*IF YOU DONT HAVE MIC MONITORING READ !!! (hearing yourself in the mic)* I plug in my headphones to my mic, and when this happened I could no longer hear myself. Got to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage audio devices>(select mic) mine was now names USB advanced audio device>Levels> on the microphone the volume icon will have a red x on it, click it and it will now allow you to use mic monitoring again. This fixed it for me, unfortunately it sounds worse after the firmware issue

I recently got this mic as a Christmas gift, and I've had nothing but good experiences with it up until a couple days ago, where I'm having the exact OPPOSITE issue with this mic, with it being too soft. I've raised the gain and everything, but it only picks my voice up if I've got my mouth right against it. Any ideas?? I've been looking everywhere for answers😥

Sorry for the late response! I'm not sure to be honest. It sounds like a similar problem, but the gain setting in the PC is set too low instead of too high. Not sure how to fix that, unless you just tried adjusting the gain on the microphone itself.

Hei buddy, I was tossing between this and the Elgato Wave 3, In hindsight would you go for that instead of the Quadcast? asking cause I'd like to buy 1 for my channel as well but can't decide. I may stream more in the future but for now its mainly talking. Price is the hindrance in buying the Elgato, plus not sure if functionality is really necessary for me. However i wouldnt mind buying to future proof myself.

From what I understand there is no future proof mic. All microphones will fail if they are moved regularly or exposed to moisture. That being said, my Hyperx quadcast has lasted as long as 3 Blue Yetis did for me. Even though this problem happened it doesn't stop me from working and using the Quadcast. You don't need a higher quality microphone than a quadcast unless you are producing music. Most content creators are much much more picky with their audio than their listeners.

@@CousinRoysCorner ​ @Cousin Roy's Corner The wavelink software isn't necessary at all. You can do all sorts of live streaming with a basic usb condensor microphone using OBS software. OBS is free and open source. Its very powerful. I've used OBS for all my live streaming and recording needs for 5 years and I've never found something I couldn't do with OBS. I was saying that in the past I used blue yeti microphones but after 3 of them breaking I stopped buying blue yetis. Thats why I got this quadcast originally. I've had the quadcast for over 2 years and it still works to this day!

FINALLY I FOUND SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM! When you say the microphones firmware has failed, do you mean broken? What if I would replace with a new cable? I use AUX headset directly from the microphone in order to get input monitoring. But now when the firmware has ''failed'' I can't hear myself anymore. Do you know how to fix that? There are 4 physical points of failure you have to test. The USB port in your PC, the usb port in the microphone, the cable, and the microphone itself. I am not sure how to get the feedback feature to work after the firmware fails, if you find a way please let me know :)

@@JackPitmanNica I found how to enable feedback! Since I use AUX earphones connected to the mic I need to set the mic as the output source (obviously). But if i want to enable feedback you go to properties on output and then adjust the microphone level there. The mic in output is disabled as default apparently.

That problem is usually caused by a bad USB connection, causing the device to "unplug and replug" even though its plugged in. You can try setting up the plug in a way that the cord twists around itself so that it stays in place, or you can try replacing the USB cable. Thatd be my first guess for you

Hmmm that sounds like one of discord's audio settings. See if unchecking reduce noise in discord audio fixes the problem. Theres a few other settings you can toggle off and try

Its likely that your audio output device is set to the microphone (Which can't play audio). You can fix that by going into settings and putting the Audio output to your computers speakers

Hmmmm these are plug and play mics so they should show up if they are plugged in and the red light is on. Is the microphone showing up in your system audio input settings? If you are on windows, go to the bottom right of your screen and right click on the SPEAKERS icon. Then click SOUNDS . Then click on the RECORDING tab. Does your microphone show up there while it is plugged in?

I'm having a problem when using this mic with discord. speaking in game is fine but when I want to talk to my friends on discord with this mic they can hear me but I cant hear them (and its showing they're talking). Then I unplug the mic and I can hear them again, then I plug it back in and I cant hear them. Do you know what's causing this issue?

Sounds like your discord audio output switches to the microphone (which is not a speaker) so you hear nothing. Plug the microphone in and then look at your discord settings to make sure the "Output Device" is set to your computer speakers (not the microphone).

Este es un problema común con Quadcast. Cuando cambie el nombre nunca volverá a ser como antes. Debe cambiar el nombre del micrófono y ajustar la configuración como muestro en este video

It sounds like it could be a problem with the USB port in the computer or the microusb port in the microphone itself. Does the red light turn on if you tap the bottom of the mic? When the mic is on mute it won't show the red light.

You can get that part repared, if you can use a soldering iron then you could do the repair yourself. I think you just need to find the right micro USB port. I think you can find them by searching for "replacement micro usb port" on amazon Im not sure if that is the problem, though. Might be worth looking into

You can purchase a replacement on amazon for a few dollars; its a standard piece. Just do some research to make sure you buy the right one

Yup! Thats what the device gets named when this problem happens. Sometimes you'll have to repeat the steps in the video at a point in the future. You should rename it to something else so it is obvious when it resets.

when talking in discord with friends people have more quiet settings so you might want to try setting that number to 20 or 30 instead of 45

Is the light turning on? The red light. Touch the top of the microphone. If the red light does not come on that means the microphone is not receiving power. It could be your usb cable, the usb port in your computer, or a problem with the microphone itself

If you tap the bottom of the mic to mute it, does the red glow turn off? If the red color turns off then your mic is most likely working and it is a software issue. Are you sure that your microphone settings are set to the quadcast and not a default setting?

That sounds like the microphone is faulty : / if the mic doesnt power on at all then its usually a problem with the cable, the mic plug, the cable itself, or the computers usb slot. Did you have any luck?

I think the only way is to reinstall the firmware on the microphone but I have no idea how to do that. If you have warranty up you can send it in and they will send you a new microphone

From what I understand it is a failure of the firmware. Not sure what causes it. Supposedly you can reflash the firmware but I'm not sure how to do that

@@HalamanTetangga It sounds like you have a problem with the cable or the usb port on the microphone. Is the red light on? If you notice the red light flickering sometimes this will set your PC microphone setting to default instead of quadcast which will cause no sound to be recorded. It is very important that you keep the cables very still when you are using the microphone and avoid moving the microphone

Yup! Gotta reduce the gain. My videos have a bit of static in them when I get too excited but its not horrible. Noticeable with headphones though. Unfortunately nothing I can do about it atm just keep using the mic lol

For my recording purposes (simple KZbin videos) the difference isn't noticeable. Particularly with background music or game music. However if you were a musician using a microphone like this then the quality might be different enough to matter. As far as I can tell all that happens is the microphone "forgets" it's a hyperx quadcast which causes Windows to treat it like a normal microphone with gain set as loud as possible. (because normal microphones tend to be too quiet) So, by reducing the gain you make it function almost the same as it did before.
