Fix Low Volume on Android Radio and Volume Glitch 18-19, 19-20 Issue Android Head Units -Help

Ok so as pointed out setting your min volume to 20 would be crazy! So as the volume reverts back to factory settings at 19. I set my factory head unit volume to a 1 this is an acceptable volume for the radio if it's left on 3 is a nice level for the Bluetooth then don't go above volume 18 which is an acceptable round town high listing volume even better if your running through an amp

Yep, not going above 18 was my fix, also with increasing the volume like in the video that was achievable, never needed to even go above 10. Also, after updating the unit this issue was fixed and I don't have the problem anymore. Even going above 19 is met with a tiny tiny glitch that doesn't bother me at all, so all is good on my end lol. I just hope this video helps someone who cannot update or still has these issues. @@albinskenderovski how did you update the unit mate was it as simple as opening developer options and updating from there or am I just hoping 😆 mines ment to be running Android 10 so assumed it's upto date. Im sure I found a video of someone with a custom ROM that sorted this too but need to find it again.

@@mikejewsbury3311 yeah I have a video on how to do it but it's not with a custom rom just regular official update from the developers of these units it's just an OTA update. What you do is, download the firnware for your unit, put in on a usb stick and go to settings then about and boom the upgrade/update button will glow instead of being greyed out 🤷🏻‍♂️. Look through my top videos and the update one is there 🙂. Also if your unit is performing well, there is no need for an update 🤷🏻‍♂️

A semi perm fix I found is to go into the head units volume settings and set default volume to 20 then don't adjust the volume knob below that you can go up all you want if you need lower than 20 adjust on your phone

Neat trick, one problem with my unit is I use a subwoofer attached to a strong amplifier and it cannot be controled from the head unit. I set to default 20 then everyone entering my car will become deaf withing minutes 🤣 too much

Developer options at settings is whn you go into settings then go to About then go to build number and tap that five times, it will enable developer options and then you can enter EM mode or Engineering Mode

I have this issue on my essgoo 7 inch for vw golf. But the other day I played the included demo video by xy auto that already was on the device and the sound was amazing playing the MP4 video, and all of a sudden my balance, fader and equalizer worked. But just when playing that video file. Very strange.

I am guessing it deems that video file as a system file, for example my radio app works perfectly fine and did not have that glitch, they work separately for system files and apps or God knows what else lol, they are pretty inconsistent with these units and we have to navigate through dirty air in order to have a perfectly working unit. Go into equalizer settings and lower the bass all the way down. If you cannot find that then I recommend you watch my other video that explains how to prevent a dead battery, in that video I go into the special settings of these units and in there you can see Spund Effects, lower those too.

These units dont carry an amplifier inside like some other units, so the volume is low and it lacks quality. Couple that with bad speakers and that's it, your volume sucks😅

It would, but try changing the values of the volume make them lower starting for 1 and above, also memorize the settings so that you can easily revert. Use google and seqrch for engineering mode volume adjustment

You need to setup the equalizer so that MIDDLE is higher because that is where the voice comes out better so that you don't get the muffling of the person.

Using an equalizer would accomplish that, I know from experience that this unit in my car only sounded good cause I had an amp and a subwoofer installed. Also was using poweramp for music playback and it was heavily customized in the equalizer as well. For you if you don't have those things, get a working equalizer, I think there was one that changed a lot for music playback and volume and it was working everytime you start the unit and the app. I will try and find it if you want.

I am not familiar with the unit, you must find Engineering mode like in the video it's the only way to lower the volume at level 1, but I am not sure if it will stick after a restart because some of these option stick but others go back to default after restart.

It goes back to the original once you pass the threshold of what they have set as default, try to alter the values differently to suit your unit and volume, but always write down everything you change or film a video while you are changing so that you can get back to the values previously set. Otherwise you would have to do a hard reset.

When you connect phone the unit uses the audio processor of your phone I believe, that is why it sounds different... I am not an expert but in my testing AUX and Bluetooth used to sound really bad with my unit, which is why I always listened via USB, I also think the best quality was coming from FM radio. All these units are different and you need to be very lucky to get a properly functioning one 😅

Usually factory radios have much better bass, here in the video I am lucky since the car was equipped with a subwoofer and a separate amplifier, if you wanna change that then you must install some equalizer.

Sadly I don't think there is such option 🙈 do you have the volume skip and loudness activation after 19?....and I hope if someone knows a way to limit it to 19 only and they help out... also using engineering mode you can make the volume steps to have more value from 1 to about 17 18 and it would go to max volume there but it takes a while to set it up.

Had to set it up everytime I had to use it because only the sub will go max volume and I don't hear anything coming out of the car speakers.. i thought of getting an external amp for the speakers so i dont have to go through setting it up every use but i don't know hows that going to work together with the sub with a built-in amp.

It's possible there might be an issue with the unit right where the speaker cables are going in, mine had a similar issue and it got fixed at a car electrician he did some magic on it I have no idea about hardware but it seems yours is a hardware issue and not software issue, for the unit being slow best thing to do is reset or first Upgrade if possible then do a reset and it would be like factory new software-wise

Sometimes it reverts back on volume change, but if you set it again it will stay like that until you switch off the engine. Happens to me too from time to time, sadly there is no permament solution unless you root the unit and do a bunch of other things which in my opinion is not worth it, since you can brick it that way and you get nothing in the end.

@@ruineves7859 hopefully, I had been scouring the internet for solutions but I could not find any. All I could find was people complaining and not finding a solution, I thought of this method because I used to do it on an older android smarpthone back in the day, the phone was rooted and I could save those settings forever but these units are very easy to brick and I just gave up. I do this only when I have a long drive ahead of me 🤷🏻‍♂️... If I ever find a permanent solution I will immediately make a video about it lol, take care :)

If you havent done a factory reset maybe it will help you, these units are not very reliable I know, mine has its issues especially in warm weather but if you cannot do anything to it try a factory reset what have you got to lose there is no sound anyway. Maybe some app has been infected or somehow stopped working all of a sudden and now u got this issue. Factory reset or firmware update are the way to go. Unless someone has some other way they can help here in the comments.

@beamer2169 have you tried an equalizer from playstore? Also, poweramp adds a lot more sound, try the EQ first, you will gain your much needed loudness via a few toggles

Yep, sadly there is no way to permanently save this, that would require root and it's a big hassle.

@Grandpasaab the less you meddle with those settings the better lol, you would need a reset if some of those settings stick and get saved permanently. Test out some things but it's better if you record while you are changing values so that you can set them back the way they were in case something goes wrong.

If you meant the wallpaper then yeah there are some stock photos inside... as for the FM radio background No, that one is only changed by replacing the entire stock radio apk with something else. They are usually found in forums, and I would not recommend since you might get the wrong version and lose the functionality of the FM.

Nope, this app won't do that, but if you have the same unit or same system you can find a way to balance the sound in factory settings then usb settings and in there you got the options you are looking for ✌🏻

If it says something about Settings, then you need to activate Developer Options through the settings menu then About and then tap more than 5 times on Build Number and it should activate it. If it says something else or you cannot install or find the app then it might be because your device is not an MTK processor device. Please write back with info on your error 🙂

@@davonfahnert yep, it seems like your chipset is not mediatek and this app is for mediatek chipsets only thus the name MTK engineering, I am sorry it's not working out for you as I know these issues can be quite troubling some times and they disrupt your sound experience. Why don't you send me some info regarding your hardware and I will try and find if there is a solution out there or any other way to enter into these settings if possible somehow

@@davonfahnert Sadly, I cannot find the same app for your device. It has a different processor and there is no other way to enter there without some sort of root access probably. If volume is too low for you I have an idea about something you can try. Install the trial version of poweramp and tweak the equalizer to your preference then write a comment here and I will tell you what to do to get even more volume from poweramp besides the slider in Equalizer it uses to give extra volume, there is another hidden way. I am here if you decide to try, take care 🙂
