What about a Microsoft process called rundlle.32 using the microphone. From my research this isn’t malware but is a necessary process that is always running in the background of the pc but it shows it’s using my microphone. Also I have a 3.5mm Trrs connection so it doesn’t show up as a headset or microphone in the audio set up menus and shows up as Realtek audio speakers. It always use to work now it doesn’t. Mic still works when I plug into Xbox controller. Idk how to fix this

Try Repairing Windows Search cmd then run as admin and execute the following 3 commands one by one- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Restart. Once Done Trying Running System File Checker SFC Scan sfc /scannow Restart. Windows Updates- Install all the latest Updates and then Restart the PC.

If you're also someone who's facing this same problem, please don't panic. I bought my Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14ITL6 yesterday and it was only until today i wanted to send a voice note to find a message popping up saying to connect to a microphone. I was puzzled because which laptop doesn't already have a built in microphone? Anyway, I just updated it to the final version of windows and now the microphone is working just fine. So the problem wasn't the hardware or anything. It was a software issue. Thankfully.

Hello, my computer's own microphone does not work, other microphones do not work either. I did all you said. Normally, when I test the microphone in Windows settings, it gets sound, but in applications such as zoom and discord, it warns that there is a problem with the microphone. There is no indication that the microphone is working in any of the microphone tests inside those applications. Can you help me? I am a Windows 10 user. Everything is up to date.

Still doesnt work. Ive updated and reinstalled the drivers. I bought a new mic and still nothing. The PC says the mic is in use but wont detect any audio input.
