For example, a dirty shop space of some 150 sqft in a modest town like Johari Bazar in a city like Jaipur costs around 50k-70k a month in rent but income will be 35-40k. In interior parts of the city even, around 70-75 percent of a small businesses net gains is sunk up in rent. China doesn't have that rent seeking mentality as India does. The ruling class of India would rather have Turks or Persians or Pushtoons pay us rent in exchange for them administering our lands. Productivity is punished in India. China got rid of generation rent seeker landlord in Great Leap Forward. India didn't. The idea of India's elite rent seeker class is to inflate value of their land in order to secure a higher bank loan against it to blow up on dancing girls. Banks are happy to oblige cos its only a matter of time before they get control over their land. Money is a medium of exchange, land is real capital.

That’s because the US had high standards when first allowing Indians to immigrate decades ago. Doctors and doctorates only.
