Was a very interesting video - great explanation of what to do. I have the sister card to the one Mike flashed (got both on EBAY at the same time, and neither were advertised as mining cards) and will try the flash on it! No landfill for this one! :)

Slightly off topic mike but I fitted the thermalright 1700 buckle / plate/ holder ,thingamajig today on my 12400 . I must have adjusted it half a dozen times before I was happy with it lol. Anyway no major difference temp wise, but at least it didn't go up . Thanks for the video all about it😊

During the C19 pandemic I purchased an ex-GPU mining rig with numerous Rx570/580 gpus (~3/4 being RX580s) and I needed to bios flash the majority of them with a standard GPU bios as they’d been flashed with mining bioses. A couple gpus needed to be reflashed 2-3 times before they worked successfully so don’t give up if the first bios flash fails.

While being still relevant for some games, these old card are showing their age, with uefi incompatibility or just the performance. But still a solution for low specs gaming.

What really surprised me was when Mike was running the Unigen Heaven benchmark and getting double-digit frame rates at 4K! I had no idea that card was capable of that - I would love to see the difference between the RX470 4GB vs the Ryzen 5600G or 5700G onboard graphics… is it better, comparable or worse? The dedicated card has 4GB of GDDR 5 RAM. The integrated uses shared DDR4 RAM, and steals that from the system. Interesting. Maybe not a bad idea for another video! :)

Just as a 'grinds my gears' comment ... there is a huge scourge of ads on sites where you want to download tools ... notice (as on the sites you used here) there is always some ad appearing that is designed to look like part of the download site (notice the "DOWNLOAD" button). You would think that there would be some way to keep those from appearing. They are purposefully designed to be deceptive and get some unsuspecting person to click when they thought it was part of the legitimate download page. Given that many/most of these sites are advanced tech tool sites - you would think possible to avoid that nonsense?

What should I do if after flashing the bios and restarting it still didn't work. When i inserted the gpu into an old motherboard it worked by why doesnt it work with this mobo

what motherboard do you have? does it support PCIe Gen 3 x16? is the slot clean and checked for debris in the slot
