You did a great job. Thank you for helping me figure out how to get that condensation out of my tail light.

I really need to do this to my daily driver car, as the passenger (right) side assembly has condensation, which is not only ugly, but also scatters the light, making them less effective at their job. TBH, I'm amazed that it's only that assembly that has condensation in it, as it's an over-20-year-old car, and so are the gaskets. Still going to caulk both of the assemblies, as I can guarantee you the other side does still need it, but hey, at least only the one needs dried

Nice video. If you squirt the entire light with soapy water and add very little air pressure through one hole bubbles will show you where the leaks are. Remove both bulbs and air will flow through. It will cut your dry time by 1/4

Best way (and a lot quicker) to do this is to hit the front of the lens with the hairdryer, hold it in one concentrated area until you see the droplets evaporate in front of your eyes, no chance of melting the plastic as the droplets will disappear before that ever happens. Move to another part of the lens, repeat, repeat until all gone. Took me 45 minutes to complete.

Congratulations. A good job. I've seen a lot worse done by men who think very smart about it. In Portugal this tail light, if not repaired, would have problems with annual inspection and could not circulate on the roads. Police fines are very expensive for lack of inspection or broken or damaged parts.

I have the same problem with one of my tail light assemblies. Your solution seems sound so I'll try it. Thanks for the vid.

Great video! Very handy to know that works instead of getting an expensive mechanic or a new headlight assembly. Could you do a video on how to remove and reinstall the headlight? I know not all cars are the same, but a general guide would be very useful.

Conrad Waite will do. I haven't reinstalled it yet so I'll be sure & make a video doing so.

Brilliant. Exactly the advice I was after!

Well done. A Heat Gun can melt the lens! It might have gone quicker if you had left both bulbs out and let the air circulate out. I hope you got it sealed. You are one of few who knows how to fix these. I hope it worked , and that will depend on how well the sealing went.

You SHOULD have opened all the holes so the air could circulate, which would have cut down on your drying time. Placing it in a 200 degree oven for about 30 minutes would have been quicker.

If you leave your lights condensed on your car too long it will cause discoloration on the inside esp chrome areas..i made that mistake. Even tho the water is all dried up the inside is discoloured and dirty. Only way to fix them now is to take them apart and either clean with soap and towel or repaint the inside.

Could have dried out faster without blocking the holes. Just ssyin
@nainka114 жыл бұрын
Should have left vent holes...............would have all been done in a few min's............The hot air will expand and presurise the fitting............but needs a means of escape.

Not much at all. I don't think what I have to say is all that interesting 🤷🏾♀️ didn't even know I had comments on some of my videos.

You can run a blowdryer for 5 hours straight??
@ClareBearForever3 жыл бұрын
That is one hell of a blow dryer. I just left it running to dry out the light funny thing is I still have it to this day
@mopro56635 жыл бұрын
If the bulbs were not mounted it would dry much faster

I set my convection oven to 50°C and sit the assembly in for a couple of hours, done with no effort
