Fix the roof - part 1/3 demolition

About three years ago I heard carpenter ants gnawing on the ceiling while resting in the bedroom. Then it took two years before I actually did something about it. At first I didn't realize how extensive the repair would become from such a small problem. That's how it is sometimes in a 100-year old wooden house.
I really don't like renovating the house. I've been doing it for so many years now that I'm getting good at it. I am a gardener who promised to finish the house first before the garden. It was almost 10 years ago now... at the time of writing I'm thinking about how many things need to be done next year...
