Fixed! AC Broke Down In 109 Degree Heat Wave

AC quit working during the recent heat wave. The Capacitor died when it was 109f/43c outside. Apparently, it's a pretty common issue with AC units in very hot climates. It's a pretty inexpensive insurance policy to have a generic capacitor on hand in case one goes out on your AC unit. check it out!

at first look at the capacitor , the top is swollen. BAD CAPACITOR. Why wait for Amazon in 109 degree temp. Go to Homedepot or any HVAC store and fix it TODAY. I keep one and a contactor in stock.

Home Depot doesn't sell them and HVAC supply houses don't usually sell to retail customers.

if you call then HAVC guy, they going to come in and tell you, it need to be replace and give you a quote for 5000.

Not true. Most companies would throw a new capacitor in 15 minutes and charge you less than 500 dollars

Not even close man. My quote was 7-20k And we both know 7k is the bare minimum and its never gonna be that price. I replaced the capacitor and its been good for 3 days since.

​@@osirisblasteryou had one company come out and you think they are all the same. I'm an hvac tech and change capacitors all day long. If your system is old and on its last legs I'll let you know that you'll need to think about replacement. Don't put us all under the same umbrella.

​@@pitdawg6418you're funny man. You are showing how little you know about running a business. You're not paying only for the 15 dollar capacitor. You're paying for the guy who spent years learning about hvac systems to replace it with the right one, safely, on the same day. If you want to wait 3 days for the part only to find out that the cap being bad burnt out your motor windings and will need to call the hvac guy anyways be my guest. But built into that price is also the cost of the truck, shop, insurance, workers comp, gas, tires, and many other costs of just doing business. If you complain about this you're probably the same guy who goes into a steakhouse and cries about a $100 steak because "I can buy all these ingredients at ralphs for 14.99"
