(Fixed) Samsung Galaxy tab A7 now lets you move Apps to the SD card!

You can now move your apps to the SD card on the Samsung Galaxy Tab a7 after the most recent August 1st 2021 update. This is exciting because this feature was not available when the device first launched and now its supported which is game changing for this mid range budget tablet.

Same shit my tablet is doing CODM is nearly 30GB now and when I try to transfer it to the 256 GB SD card it gets >90% and then stalls and says "not enough space" 🙄

I just got an A7 Lite and it's not letting me move apps. My SD card is empty and I go to app storage and try to move it but it says there isn't enough space even though my 128GB sd card it totally empty.

This is no longer true! As soon as you get the "software update" for android, that ability will be gone. Then you will have to have your unit flashed back to the old software because there is nothing you can do to upgrade it. Samsung was not able to help. Every program I had put on the SD card was wiped out with the update and just like that, I was not longer able to load programs onto the SD card. That makes this tablet pretty useless.

Yes I bought both my kids these Samsung a7 tablets. I put 128gb in both tablets. And looking everywhere for the option to transfer apps and whatnot because the 32 gb was full from my kids playing and downloading their stuff on it. There is absolutely nothing you can do to get back dated update in the software's program to move apps to your SD card inserted into the device? Frustrating and leaves this tablets usesless.

New Galaxy A7 Tab Lite does not allow apps to be moved to SD card, even when permissions are allowed. Latest Android 12 dated 07/2022 installed. Found a few other recent posts online stating their A7 doesn't provide the "change" tab. Bummer! Installed and then formatted Sandisk Extreme 32GB SD card.

Just to add to the helpful video, you have to reboot your device after installing the SD card else you will not be offered CHANGE in the storage settings.

Yeah this doesn't work with most apps I've tried. I tried moving the Twitch app and it gives you the options like you showed and says that it's using x MB or GB on external storage, but I looked back at the storage and Twitch is still taking up space on the internal storage.

Some say that rebooting the tablet right after you install the SD card helps with the transfer problem. I just ordered the android 10 version from Amazon Black Friday for $139. Hope I don’t have this problem. I will avoid updating to 12.

I got the S8 Tablet 128GB 5G. And a Samsung Pro Plus 256GB microSD Card inserted. When moving apps to the SD card, it starts going. But reaches 90% and then shows a message that there is insufficient storage space. I tried formatting the card, unmounting and remounting, restarting the tablet and uninstalling the app and reinstalling to try again. Same result. And it doesn't matter how big the game apps are, the same result.

That process doesn't free up too much space in the internal storage. I moved all apps and my internal storage still almost full.

My SD card is 32 gb. In my files, I click on the SD card and it shows, alarms, android, dcim, etc. which is duplicating what is on internal storage. However, when I do as you have mentioned, it comes up saying "not enough memory" when I'm trying to add 400 mb app to it or any other app, Any ideas what I am doing wrong. BTW, really liked your video but for some reason I'm not able to transfer anything to the SD card. There is only about 200 mb on the card right now. Thanks!

As mentioned two days ago, I like your video. It was easy to understand. However, I had a 32 gb card that was recognized but it always came back "Not enough storage space." So, I bought the Samsung 64gb EVO Plus card which was recommended and better than the 32 gb card I had. Unfortunately, I sill get the same message, "Not enough storage space,:" My updates are later than yours so that should be a problem (One UI Core version 4.1, Adroid version 12. Android security patch July 1, 2022. Last update was installed Sept 25, 2022. It is very frustrating for I need the extra space. I'm almost out the 32 allowed space. Any thought out there? Thanks!

I know this is a year old but just in case you see this, is there any way to make game updates go to the SD card as well? Because I have Genshin Impact (a notoriously huge game) and it won't let me install the newest update because I don't have enough internal storage although I have an empty SD card in. I tried to move my Call of Duty mobile app over onto my SD card which is a 256 gig and it says not enough storage meanwhile the game is only 11 gigs right now in my game. No it's just Samsung and android jerking us around. I have CODM as the only app on my tablet and each season the game gets bigger so I got a 256 GB SD card to help hold it and Samsung says "not enough space" when I try to move it 😂

@@slakr2386 Can't do it with this tablet. It lacks MHL capability. I already bought and returned the cable to try it out. Maybe this update fixed it, but i doubt it. Sammy wants you to mirror wirelessly. I'm not buying another cable to test it again after this update. I'm done messing with USB-C to HDMI for this tablet.

Your "Other" category is only 2 GB. I got a brand new A8 for my kids a month ago and the "Other" section is at 10 GB!!! That is pretty much a third of the internal storage. Add in another 10 GB for System and it's 2/3 full in a month?!?! I should have spent more $ and went with iPads!

If this method doesn’t work u have to update the software on your device to android version 11 Knox 3.7 and the option comes up when u go into the settings, then apps, click on the particular app then click storage and u will see the option to change from internal to external memory

well here's the thing i transfered every single app to my sd card but there are alot of apps that i can't tranfer to the sd card and the system storage is taking up 10 gigs of the internal storage and other are taking up 2 gigs and the apps that cannnot be transferred to the sd card ar taking up 17 gigs so i need my tab a7 to read the sd card as internal storage and alot off games that i play are taking more storage the more they get updates and i can't update codm because of that
