We decided to fix the characters in Netflix's War For Cybertron Kingdom by updating Maximals and Predacons voices with the original voice actor from the 1996 Beast Wars animated series.

Not going to lie, as much as I try to imitate the voices of most of the Beast Wars roster, Megatron is the one I seem to both do really well AND have as much fun as David Kaye probably had when voiced Megs. According to my recordings, though, the one I can perfectly imitate is Tarantulas (probably due to my insane ability to imitate the voices of creepy characters), which disturbed me when I heard it. Still, David Kaye’s a legend for Meg’s voice and it’s so much fun quoting him and putting on his voice (I’ve even done it specifically to make a conversation more interesting or fun), yessssssss.

I don't know if voice talent was really the issue with the Netflix adaption. There were some poor casting choices, in my opinion. Also, killing off certain characters wasn't the best idea either.

That’s a little harsh. Non-union actors can be just as good as union actors. The issue is these characters and their voices are very iconic. Sometimes it’s better to just do a whole new take rather than ask someone to do an imitation of an outstanding actor who is still alive.

I forced my future wife to watch it with me ages ago... she was... not impressed with the show as she'd rather watch Anne of Green Gables, but she did like the guitar music in the show and called our van Silverbolt. I tried my hand at a little voice acting on my own channel too... for what it's worth... only about 5 minutes worth or so... I'm no voice actor but tried to do Dinobot, Megatron G1 and BW Megatron having a conversation in Kingdom...

@@allenarf5947 which is disrespecting them all since Garry chalk would been willing to reprise his role and even he is also critical of show voice acting calling them low energy which is valid point the recast became a bigger sore point because many of the actors attempted to imitate their predecessors with varying degrees of success, not helped by criticism of long, drawn-out and often dull, emotionless dialogue. Thus, the vitriol of the change became much more pronounced.

There was fundamentally nothing wrong with making Beast Megatron a fanboy of OG per se. True, it's not like the original, but in of itself, there was nothing wrong with that idea. No, the problem is the execution. He became a goon and a simp with the appropriate unrespectable voice. Didn't have to be David Kaye, but he could still be a fanboy of OG Megs while still being the smooth, charismatic, faux-polite megalomaniac that we know him to be. That did not need to change. THAT is what make him being a fanboy here so bad: not the idea, but the delivery

Much, MUCH better. One of the most important and easily the best things about Beast Wars that still holds up today is the voice acting. Because you had an immensely talented and energetic voice director like Susan Blu to help coach and direct the talent that she recruited and every performance counted and not a single performance felt flat or unwelcome. Everyone from Scott Mcneil to David Kaye really helped the show immensely and by just allowing them to help create characters that for years become the brand's most iconic and beloved part of Beast Wars. I feel like Kingdom (and the entire WFC Trilogy) lacked a voice director that could push the talent to a certain limit and help them make the characters than just do a series of voices, because it's not their fault their performances ranged from flat to miscasted. It's the show's fault that it didn't have a great voice director to help get the talent out of who they hired.

This is such good relief. Hearing my beloved Beast Wars characters with new animations but maintain the OG voice actors is just a cherry on top. Because I just finished watched Kingdom today, I thought it was the better chapter out of the three chapters, but it's still lacking in the voice acting department to making it more impactful. But the video really made me happy and smiled because when I played my Beast Wars toys, I'm still attached to the original Beast Wars voices not the new ones in Kingdom that Rooster Teeth and Neflix butchered.

News Flash: There won’t even be Predacons in the film. Instead it’s Terrorcons, and they’re all new characters that seem more like G1 Terrorcons. The good news is we WILL get Cheetor, Airazor, Rhinox, and Primal. Even better is Rhinox will be voiced by David Sobolov (the original Depth Charge) and Ron Perlman returns as Primal.

Obviously this wouldn’t happen for a while due to ongoing stuff, but if the film got two sequels, then maybe they could show up in the future. So far we got Primal, Rhinox, Airazor, and Cheetor for Maximals. Scorponok was the only Predacon featured. If sequels are greenlit, then more from both factions could be brought in. Not holding my breath on that one, but it’s not out of the question.

To Netflix's credit Blackarcachnia, Rattrap, and Airrazor were pretty good fits. Beast Wars Megatron though, no way, and Tigatron and Dinobot sound like they should have switched actors.

Some of them weren’t that bad I liked Dinobot, Rat trap “he had his accent!”, and blackarachnia. As well as Star Scream, megatron “i wish he could’ve spoken like he did in prime wars”, bumblebee, prowl, jetfire/ skyfire, and wheel jack “also had the accent”. I didn’t like ironhide I wish he swapped with hound, and Optimus prime of course. I HATE BW Megatron only thing I liked is that he said “yesss”. Other than that I thought the cast was “ok” with a few great voices.

It's really well done, but having seen both series I can't help but flinch as the dialogue does not match what they're actually saying. Now if someone could impose the Beast Wars voices directly over the Kingdoms script..... OMG

I looked up the voice actors for these characters and they all seem to be still working, so I dunno why they weren't hired back for this series. Being too expensive or too busy would explain some of them being replaced but not all of them.

Those graphics with the same story and voices? Yessssss. For fun, I actually did a compete recast for Beast Wars that 1) used famous actors for the voices, and 2) did not use anyone that already voiced a Transformers character. Additionally, my picks were based on who I thought would be best suited to deliver each character’s lines (for example, I felt Mark Hamill would be the best choice for Tarantulas since he’s an expert Joker voice, and Tarantulas is just as creepy and evil).
