You picking that up weirdly reminds me of an episode of Arrow (S4) where Thea was kidnapped by Malcolm and put into this simulated underground suburb built by Damien Darhk and Hive. She was drugged so she wasn't suppose to know where she was, but her training made her pick up on a pattern in the matrix. Something like birds chirping, then a dog barking 3 times and then something else in a continuous, timed loop. Malcolm was impressed that she figured it out and I did say it weirdly reminded me of it.
