Martin, this is a good example of why is it useful to have tools to hand for any running repairs. On the last outing in the caravan, I needed to retension one of the flyscreens and having tools to hand made the job a lot easier. I got the idea of having a caravan toolbox from one of Dan's videos.

These videos are the reason why I subscribed. Back when you had just 600 subscribers!!! Just goes to show how worthwhile it all is now with so many followers. I'd be a tad lost without these informative & explanatory videos now I've entered the world of caravanning!! Keep up the good work. All the best. Dave

Thanks for your continued support and feedback. One of the ideas behind doing the channel was to show that you can save money and do jobs yourself. I put holiday vlogs and some products in just to make a change. Thanks again for your support, Martin 😊

Thanks for the video! You saved me a lot of time to take the trailer to the dealer to fix a cord that just got loose. I was able to take the corner piece off and put the little metal cylinder back in place and voila it was fixed. Made my day!

Brilliant video Martin. I wont lie, taking blinds apart has always scared me, things popping out, tension and snapping plastic... well done.

Hi John, I think the cord came out due to the blind starting to come off the wall. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 😊

Well explained video Martin this was very common in this range you are very lucky you only have one blind loose. It would be worth checking the above over head lockers they had a tendency to work loose. There is nothing at the back to secure you rely on about 2mm boards to secure the screws. Very helpful video. The caravan industry should fund a diy course for every owner because if your not into diy you will spend more time at the Dealership. Did anyone hear that Hear We Tow have joined Top Gear and are on Master Chef just could have been a rumour. Keep up the good work Martin

Thanks for the feedback, I was only thinking this morning about the amount of shaking and rattling around a van must go through when being towed. We have had a few things work loose recently, some bad design some just working loose. I’m going to put a vid together about it 🤔 I will check the front lockers out, don’t want them falling down! Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 🙂

Nice video, I had to do exactly the same repair on 2 of our blinds. I bought a cheap Venetian blind to use the cord as I didn't have enough slack in the old piece as it had snapped.

Nice to know they can be removed so easy. Always baffled me why the actual blind is at the bottom. Would be better if the blind came down (to block the sun) and the fly screen went up. Suppose they can be removed and fitted the other way around.

I have often thought of turning the blinds around, would make more sense to block the sun out. Might do it one day! cheers

Another good ‘un Martin! You sure you’re not breaking stuff just to do a video ? 😂 Serious - good concise to the point repair job Well done Hope you enjoyed Edinburgh Did they let you fire the 1 o’clock gun? Regards H

Hi Howard, not breaking stuff just the joys of a 8 year old van! Edinburgh was great, especially the drive up there with no traffic issues. They wouldn’t let me near the gun, think they may have watched some of my vids 😂 Thanks for the support, Martin 🙂

Hi Martin. I'm about to replace all my blinds, Duoplissee is one of my preferences, either that or the Combi Blinds that has both the blind and the flyscreens coming down from the top. I'm keen to know if you have any opinions or comments to help me decide. Thanks.
@TheCaravanNut
@TheCaravanNut 4 жыл бұрын
The Duoplissee blinds, blind up from the bottom flatscreen down from the top, don't let much light in during those early light mornings. The blinds with both coming from the top seem to let more light in unless they are the newer ones with a full casing around all of the blind. The Duoplissee blind in our van are not spring loaded and work on a pulley system so can leave them half and half whilst in storage. Cheers Martin

The make is Tracker UK as standard Bailey fitment for Series 1 Unicorn range. These work as standalone alarms, but also were monitored/tracked if you paid an annual subscription. However in 2016 they stopped supporting them and insisted you buy a newer up to date model. I decided not to and just use it as a regular standalone alarm now.
