Thanks i needed that i always just cut and use hot wax. But got two stcroy rods have been broke at least 20 years couldnt bring my self to cut em. I keep the tips all these years mow i can fix em. Cant beleave i didnt think of this.

Mine broke right at the tip and a nail was to big I used a hook shank cut hook and eye off and it was a sweet fit

Take a sharpie and and color the thread black before u glut it. Same color as the rod. Won’t show up as much.
