You may want to try a food dehydrator. It's a common and well-tested fix for tapes with sticky shed - "baking" them at about 130F for 24 hours or so, and then cleaning the residue (which you could presumably do with the VHS Cleaner machine you've got there). That will tend to fix the sticky aspect, at least for a week or two - enough time to transfer the tape.

Yes, I’ll do that from time to time but spending 24hrs w no guarantees vs 8-10 mins.

Amen! If there’s 15 tapes to do then of course bake but if I’ve got 25 tape job and 24 are fine and one sticky, I’m going to do it by hand so I can get the job out the door. Case by case basis.
