Lacking hp is probably lack of flow at higher rpm, stock exhaust and intercooler are maybe limiting you higher up in the powerband
@MrJandysss
@MrJandysss 3 жыл бұрын
Exhaust is restriction, intercooler on BWA is upgrade for 16v TDi. This cooler work great with GTB1756 on BKD (2.0bar - 36psi and 220bhp/500Nm my street setup). Pressure drop is small, cooling is fine, on TDi work to 250bhp, on TFSi is fine to 320bhp. BWA needs high octane fuel, because this engine have high dynamic compression pressure. I think, mix 10% ethanol with 90% gasoline (placebo 100 octane) will solve the problem with “nopowah”.

Paul knows his FSI engines lol. That pause before Charles cranked the engine after MAF reset 😂 What the boys basically built is a MK6 R without Haldex. Unfortunate that the dyno results are lower than expected with the HP numbers. Stock MK6 R was pushing out 256hp so hopefully with a tune, it should be on par with APR numbers. Mid 300hp and almost 400lb tq!! With the beefed up HPFP, I have a feeling Paul will go IE stage 2+ file bc ShopDAP favors that tuning company. Either way, this is so fun to watch. 💯

Holup you don't don't think the low HP could be to the restriction the mufflers is causing? The tune is made for a down pipe that's high flowing if its not seeing that it needs to push more? I remember when I had my Camry a long time ago i tried to make it louder and i put spacers in the muffler i remember that the torque band moved up significantly (it was a manual) so maybe the muffle is giving you low hp numbers because of a restriction

Very fun episode. Surprised those 2.0 turbos could hit > 300hp with just a tune though. (I'm just comparing it to Subaru 2.5L turbos like in the Legacy) that would hit around 290hp with stage 1 tune and maybe 320-340hp with stage 2 tune + DP. That's all with 25% more displacement though.

Check the wastegate actuator. They can tend to push open and drop boost. Put some preload into it and you should see better results. I've got a Mk6 R and it will run to 30 psi although at that point it's pushing a lot of hot air as it's outside the efficient range of the K04. You should be targeting in the 25-27 psi range though. If you've still got $800 left then definitely fit a water/meth kit. Will go some way to making up for the stock intercooler. With some silicone bends and exhaust tubing you could also make a cold air intake that sits a pod filter behind the passenger headlight. Remove the light when you're racing and instant horsepower gain.

Balance shaft Delete was the best thing I have done to my MK5 GLi without question. I can actually hear this car sounding like mine originally did. SLOW revs man with the 22LBS of rotating mass, now it's like a street bike. haha.

Kind of a random question but do you have any 2004 r32 driver side headlights? A deer hit my car and been on the hunt for a new one since April 18... Found one in Europe 2 months ago but was just notified it was lost in transit. And vw stopped producing that part. Just my luck...

Probably not the best place to ask, I’ve got an 81 rabbit pickup 1.6, I resealed the engine and fired it up it was leaking from the oil pan. I pulled the motor again and dropped the pan and there was metal inside. I’ve taken everything off the block and I see no place the metal could have come from. Should I be concerned or should I send it.

I just took my noise pipe off, when I did a new DV. No cap so we duct taped and hose clamp, well stage 2 blew that clean off. Redid it now, but running like crap, how long do I leave MAF sensor unplugged???

Did an exhaust cam and some valves on a GTI like that. Man was it a pain. But it was so satisfying when we took it for that first rip. 😎

Love this! I owned a tornado red, 2006 Mk5 GLI with a manual transmission for 14 years. Loved it. It was an awesome car! Never had an issue and to be honest, I struggled parting with it. I hope you guys smoke that POS!
