I did the same but w/ a silicone primer. I had a ton of samples or ones I never used like Smashbox photo focus or theBalm time balm, hell even the silicone monistat chafing gel would work. I cut up the SSS into fine powder w/ an old credit card on a piece of folded foil then mixed in the pan w/ some primer until it was putty-like. Voila! Plus the primer won't go rancid like the oil. Worked for mattes too. Pigment AND texture restored. A quick fix tho I've found is to dab a tiny bit of the primer onto your finger then swirl into a dried shadow & apply. Also works w/ an oil but you dab most off 1st (see MakeupJustForFun's SSS vid about it). For the quick fix some SSS work better w/ the oil some the primer. But crushing & mixing works best/is long term.

How long do they stay rehydrated for if you chop up? I stupidly deported 90% of mine and they're all dried out now x

I’ve just rubbed my fingers across them now and they still work just the same when I did this video 5/6 months ago! The only negative is that it’s quite easy to put too much on because they’re almost a creamy texture rather than putty. I hope that helps in deciding what to do? I wouldn’t want to tell you what to do with your makeup but personally I don’t regret doing it to mine as they were fit for the bin before! 💕

I have tried this little experiment myself. It does work, but it is short-lived. When you mix it with oil it turns very rotten smelling within about a month. Let me know if you find out anything different with yours. But that’s what happened to me and I used it on about 10 super shock shadows.

Deb Leigh oh no!! :( I’ll be honest I filmed this video a while ago and never got around to editing it, so the shadows I fixed in this video were done a few months ago, but mine still smell fine and have a decent texture. Sorry that yours didn’t turn out so well :( x

Try using the tiiiinest amt of oil. I used jojoba oil as it doesn't go off for years (I also store my oils in the fridge but even still it is a wax ester so diff makeup). Check out Amanda's vid below. I tried oils b4 mixing it in w/ a crumbly dry SSS and it failed bad but I was using WAY too much. When I use her method it worked on ones I had even messed up prev though I did find u need to repeat it as it's not long lasting but it's easy enough to do. Again use barely any oil like dab most off--you're just trying to hydrate only the top film of the SSS you're using that day. 5 min mark: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHW2YqZ4ot6qjM0

I just recently ordered some supershock shadows and they unfortunately arrived already dried out. I was so disappointed, the colours were so pretty but they’re basically bricks.

I will have to try that out.. I have found that water revives the Jelly Much colourpop shadows.. learned that from someone on Instagram who saw that I was about to get rid of them. They told me to add water and they are like new.. have you checked out my colourpop supershock collection swatch video? would love for you to check it out :o)
