Fixing crowded teeth: palatal expanders vs tooth extractions?

I wish the orthodontist would have taken the time to extend the teeth instead of extracting them. My whole mouth is wrong now and I'm not sure what treatment I need.

I had braces in younger years. They extracted teeth two on top and two on bottom. I also had wisdom teeth extracted. The braces were suppose to fix an overbite that was not extreme. I was young and dumb and parents never asked questions. Now I am older and the teeth are touching top to bottom, my lips are so very thin and when the teeth were pulled, I flattened my face. Is there any hope now for an older person to get this mess fixed? I would love to have my overbite back. Thank you.

Can patients sue orthodontists who did premolar extractions without explaining the consequences to the patient? I feel like patients who had this performed without full disclosure of long-term effects need to be compensated. We have been mutilated. And what was done to us is very unethical.
