Fixing Flood Damaged Fences

As bad as we needed more rain it always brings more work and fences and tracks can be damaged. But it is just so wonderful to drive around and see so much green grass after how dry it was just a few short months ago.

Having a good watering system for your troughs is essential. I grew up on a farm where we didn't have troughs for the cattle when we first bought the property. We had not got that fixed when a drought hit hard and we had to sell all the stock. We had feed but no water.

That’s right mate. Without bores and digging dams across Australia there wouldn’t be as much wildlife as there is today. Everything needs to drink and they can only travel so far from water. So when a drought hits and the water holes in creeks dry up they need to move to where the water is. Now with troughs they don’t have to. And yet the greenies jump up and down and say that farmers are destroying the landscape and forcing the wildlife out. I think it is the opposite.
