My dislike came from not mentioning both sides of the saddle and how raising one or the other can affect it. Also no mention of the truss rod... don't make is sound so simple ya know.

he probably got the dislikes because of the lack of explanation and on all areas of it too. there are a aspects of why your guitar could be buzzing and should explain everything instead of giving a brief explanation on one part

When you encounter fret buzz on the first half of your fretboard (let's say frets 1 - 9) you need to adjust the truss rod (turn the screw counter-clockwise to release the tension of the neck). Raising the string saddles only helps when your strings are buzzing on the 12th fret and beyond.

L B if there is buzz on every fret, you have to losen the truss rod AND raise the saddles. But maybe the fret job on the guitar is poor after all or the neck is warped. But that is the worst case.

That’s not true. There are literally dozens of reasons why you may get fret buzz. It’s not as simple as saying adjust the truss rod. What if it’s uneven frets? What if it’s a saddle issue? What if it’s a dead string?

I want to thank you for this. I bought my first real six string (not at the five and dime) and it had this annoying buzz. I looked everywhere online and every site and video talked about the frets or neck needing to be adjusted and made it sound like I needed a shop to help but this simple explanation solved what no one else bothered to address. 15 minute videos online couldn't address what this minute and thirty video did... and now I know what the little Allen wrench that came with my guitar is for! tried this on my floyd rose and it just made the saddle thing shoot forward, adjusting the intonation not height.... This trick must only work for standard stratocaster type bridges.

The need here is to fix it, when you need to have low action. I lowered the saddles to have low action, and buzzing comes from the first 3 thick strings. The last 3 thin ones do not buzz. Any tips? Sanding just the upper half of the frets?

My Ibanez electric guitar has a string buzz. I tried to raise the nut higher and that didn't help. This guitar is fairly new. It's not warped or something. Looking at the strings and neck of the guitar, I can't see any part of the strings touching the neck to cause the buzzing. So, do you think I need to raise the action of the bridge saddles?

Good video could resolve the problem temporarily or just part of the problem. The guitar is like a math formula, so you can not depend on only one of the formula's factors. In my experience, you need to verify the neck action which is fixed with the truss rod, the nut grooves depth, if any of the frets is lifted or worn, and finally the saddles hight. It is very important to keep all the strings height correctly and uniform.

How to play a guitar: hit somehow the strings and press some fret. And this is how you play the guitar. The first thing is to check the fretboard because humidity and temperature can make it backbow or upbow. In this case adjusting the truss rod sort out the issue and you don't mess up your saddles and everything related. What about string action? relief? fretboard curve? Distace from pickups? Possible fretboard warping? Lifted or damaged frets?
