Oh wow, love what you did here! The gunmetal in the recessed areas worked wonders! Also love the little improvements you make to your videos, like showing the paint before you start, and showing yourself painting each section up close and more slowly. Love your channel Ken! You don’t have to use Acetone/Nail Polish remover. Especially if you’re a Beginner to that method. It can melt the plastic if you apply too much. You can use Rubbing Alcohol to rub off away the Paint.

I use Pronto brand acetone with a q tip. Just make sure to switch out the q tip often.

I don't think the acetone needs to be a specific one, but if you have trouble finding it, it can also go by nail polish remover. I would recommend rubbing alcohol though, because it's less harsh on plastic.

I use cutex nail polish remover as it's way cheaper than pure acetone, works exactly the same, and smells nicer.

Amazing job! Also, it can be any kind of acetone but try not to overuse! Too much will melt the plastic and make sure to give at least an hour in between heating (to remove parts) and acetone, it will be a terrifying result. Anyway, just nail polish remover would work as long as acetone is in it.

@@KenIMakeIt If you use too much acetone, it can rub off the new paint you added. To control how much acetone you use, I'd recommend Q-tips since they're small and thin. Oh and use a face mask in a well ventilated area, it doesn't smell good.

Acetone removes all the paint on figures. Whether it be what you add, or what was there in the box. In the case of a painted figure I'd recommend leaving it how it is, unless you're prepared to repaint. (I used it on the 'Starforce Captain Marvel' to paint it silver for an 838 CM custom [maybe a new idea 👀]

Don't use acetone!!! try to avoid acetone as much as you can with plastic figures, especially with the ones that have a lot of tiny sculpted details and thin lines, cause acetone is going to make the smallest sculpted details disappear, acetone basically dissolves plastic, so I highly recommend using break fluid with plastic figures, but it takes more of a learning process, so first watch some videos about how to use it, btw I'm a big fan of your videos since the very first one.

To answer your question about acetone, I don't recommend the gel type. In my personal experience, it did little to nothing in removing paint from figures. I would recommend liquid acetone, it's honestly up to you which one you want. Sorry if this doesn't help much.
