you showed two small metal clips on the table, of which I have one. where do these clips attach to?

These create the resistance in sideways adjustment. It creates friction between the adjuster toggle and the centre horizontal plate. There is a groove where it sits inside.

@@vinmaz1561 they sit in between the two moving parts. There is a recessed space which the clip sits perfectly inside. It works like a spring.
