The two different SD card readers support different formats. Slot 1 is SD only, but supports UHS-II. Slot 2 only supports UHS-I, but it also supports Memory Stick Duo cards. Why Sony thought this was necessary? Absolutely no idea, but it's annoyed me every since I got mine.

The "magnetic bearings" you saw may have actually been voice coil motors, and the black tape was probably thermally conductive tape, at least according to a a7r3 teardown on the lensrentals blog. I love seeing camera stuff like this, thanks for the video!

The back tape, what if it doesn't stick anymore? Is that an issue or should I glue it back somehow?

I feel like that black tape might be thermal tape to sink heat off some of those controllers.

the film never went anywhere! It has amazing dynamic range, resolution and artistic value. Even NASA still uses film engineering cameras
