i think trying to have a completeley unique faceshape etc for every cat is a hard thing to do since cats cant rly be as varied as human faces in that way imo

They're much more varied tf you talking about? We don't have pushed-in face persian variants, nor as many dot and stripes possibilities, nor as many eye color possibilities. They have the same amount of variability if not(absolutely and most definitely, not actually if) even more in their facial morphology.

I never used to give cat different faces, maybe just bigger/smaller/fluffier/less fluffy bodies and different tail shapes, but after owning 4 cats I'm shocked at how different they can all look. And not just the eyes or bodies. They way they hold themselves and walk, the shape of their snout and nose, mouth shape, their expression, etc. Cats are just as unique as humans, and its so cool to see an artist exploring this! Like one of my cats has small, round cute features, but angular grumpy eyes, another with big round eyes and cheeks, but a defined snout and a lil crook in his nose (it's the cutest thing ever)

Y'know... I actually haven't seen Cinder drawn with a warm gray palette. I oftentimes see her be bluer. And, y'know what? I kinda like the warm gray, it works well with her eyes and I think it makes them pop out in a pleasing manner. Great work!(I also love when people draw Cinder w/ rlly thick, fluffy and round tails, it just adds a lot of charm to her overall look ^w^ )

hey vro, you can only make literal cats look so different. it's great to have unique designs, but color is a huge part of that! not trying to say your improvement was bad or anything, just wanting you to keep in mind that everything was already fantastic and not to worry about it too much

I love the idea of Ashfur having bloodshot eyes and, knowing the kind of cat that Squirrelflight is, she would of course see past that and ignore the blatant red flag. Tbh, they look different enough for me. Same face syndrome is less bad in cats due to them not actually having a big visible variation in faces due to their fur covering a lot. Obviously there's eye shape, eye position, muzzle shape, nose shape, ear shape, and vague jaw shape differences, but those are pretty subtle. Your art amazes me anyway lol

i actually think making bluestar’s face heart-shaped makes a lot of sense! her body suggests she’s strong and confident, but the heart could communicate that she still cares deeply for her clan. great video!

For me, I feel the eye shape in my drawings show the character's personality, and make them more distinct. So same face syndrome is easier to fix!. Big, small, round, slanted, upturned, downturned, lidded, ect. The eyes are the window to the soul after all!

I haven’t posted on my KZbin yet, but I do draw! I started on my art journey with drawing cats, what I have found is looking at certain breeds, shapes and especially the animals they are named for helps. My art style is cartoony but….It works! Anyways, these look beautiful.

As someone who also has a cartoony style, looking at different breeds has definitely helped with my own same face/body syndrome Many of my OC's now have traits or are entirely based on a specific breed, or are a combination of similar breeds, like one of my OC's has traits from maine coons and norwegian forest cats

I dont think you really have a problem with the shapes. There's 1407 or so characters. No wonder they look alike (they're also all related so it makes sense)

Wondering Whats Easier to draw to you (to anyone really) but to a more advanced artist level experience- So Humans vs Humaniods/Human like creatures vs Animals? What is better or worse to draw for beginner artists or just in general?

For beginners I would really just go with what brings you joy the most and branch out from there! I started drawing animals and then branched out to humanoid characters. If you want to learn to draw but you go directly for something that stresses you out then you're not gonna have fun and not develop love for the process imo!
