FIXING my Update 8 save file in Satisfactory 1.0

The reason the fuze breaks every time you open a new power switch is because if the fuze is broken on one side and working on the other when you connect the lines the broken fuze just becomes the whole line.

I abandoned my old world, 820 hours total. In my new 1.0 world i already clocked in 86 hours. Been having a lot of fun. Granted, the only 'real' project i invested 90% of my time on is a massive field of fuel generators. turning 1800 crude oil into 6400 Rocket Fuel, into up and around 1500 fuel generators.... i couldve had a social life, but i chose to play satisfactory.

@@lawrziepan6607 you can do the math on that a 1 Fuel Gen produces 250 Megawatts with out overclock. That means hes making 375.000 Megawatts. Wich also would leave him with 150 Rocketfuel left over to package and use elsewhere.

It was so good to see you at the 1.0 release stream Jace. Even with you not working at Coffee Stain Studios anymore, it looked like you went on a vacation to see the family. The full release brought me back to the game with a fresh start. So you have my utter respect for going out there checking and fixing all the little issues that came with the update. Thanks Jace, helps a lot. Thanks for doing the video that everyone is thinking about but nobody is -dumb- *brave* enough to take on the challenge! I am dreading this process on my old saves which need power from now nonexistent nodes, as well as some factories maybe being partly buried.

I've also kept my save file (on which I've completed phase 4 too in U8). I prepared a lot with the announcements that we got, built a huge battery plant just in case (which I didn't need in the end) and already re-belted some factories for the node changes. There were surprisingly few recipe changes that affected my factories. I think it was only computer recipes that I had to throw in some Somersloops to compensate the change, and some minor things. 90% of my factories were still working without me having to do something. I'm glad I kept going, and now already finished phase 5 :)

for those who wonder. you may jump start it by connecting the batteries or creating some bio burners or use geothermal power once you start coal power. you can then fix fuel power.

I continued my update 8 save into 1.0 as well. I just finished adding dimensional depots to all my existing factories (which is an absolute game changer), updating my computers factory for the new recipe, and adjusting some factories for terrain changes. Sommersloops are awesome for extending existing production without needing more resources.

I started a new save just for giggles and to see what was new with ADA at the beginning. But about 3 hours in, I went back to my 600 hour original Save. Man... the amount of crap I had to fix was insane. Totally worth it though.

I occasionally go in on a save i had from update 3 to update 6 to fix some of the changes. I think it's got over 1200 hours on it. There's tons of changes between update 6 and 1.0 lol

Me and two friends started a new save… we could have continued using the save we had since U3, but we decided to rebuild everything instead of fixing what we had… and now we already have 132 hours on the new save. Glad to see you having fun with your old save though :)

I'd recommend setting aside some time to build into the Dimensional Storage system. It really makes the game a hell of a lot less hassle when you realize you're short one material for a thing.

I never could get too much into the game before release. I dont know what it was. I got to stage 2, got all main upgrades but then went to upgrade the tower and I just kinda left it there. Never did much building things either. So Sadly while the saves arent gone, I have not used them to return to the game. However, I am now building the tower and am half way through the first big boy upgrade of it. So hey we getting places :D

I also decided, after 1000 hours in the save, that I was going to continue it. And it did take a disappointingly long time to fix 😂 One hiccup was the new sulphur node I planned to use to fix my turbo fuel factory was not working! It was there just not functioning. Took a few days for that to get fixed.

Why didn't you use priority groups, tho ? This way you wouldn't trip the whole network when something goes bad.

“The whole network” in this case was some coal generators attached to batteries - so it didn’t really matter here. The priority groups are designed to protect your factory as you scale it up, and that’s not what I was using it for here. I just wanted everything else to be off while I got the turbo fuel tower running because once that worked then it would power everything else with ease.

I made a tutorial on this on twitter: If you wish to BACK UP your Early Access version of Satisfactory here's how: 1) Make a copy of the game 2) In your game's root folder there is a "launcher_id" file. Delete/rename it. Run FactoryGame.exe and the game will launch. However, your save files won't be detected. 3) Move your save files into the "common" folder. If you don't have a common folder go up one dir & make one. Common folder is located: C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\common or copy paste "%LocalAppData%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\common" into file explorer
