Actual sign language? You know Rooster Teeth couldn't take the time and effort to represent the hearing impared properly. They had important Halo matches to finish. Kidding asside, I found it quite annoying that the show didn't take any effort to explain how Neo communicates. Being mute causes series issues and representing them requires great care. Your addition really makes Neo feel like a real person. And you also used it to show she's growing friendly with Yang and helping her through rehab. Excellent work.

Neo's origin story book implies that not only does she come from a noble family, but she also supposedly speaks but prefers not to and is just "very quiet". at least that's what I understood.

​@@laraprisma6381 Her parents desperately wanted her to speak and tried a bunch of methods, while constantly abusing her for not speaking. _They_ said that she'd be able to, but just doesn't, however she is actually just mute. Now, I kinda remember that version of "She decides not to speak at all" too, but I quickly checked her Fandom Wiki, and it seems to agree that she's always been mute, even citing the Amity Arena game removing a note to the ambiguity of her ability to speak.

Quick couple of things for questions. 1. Can we get a confirmation on what the timeline is supposed to be? You stated that you had a spread sheet, could you release it? I’m curious to see how you aligned the events. 2. RNJR. They probably have one of my favorite dynamics. In volume 5, team RWBY is reunited, and in volume 6 it’s officially back, with the rest of JPR being dropped, which does make sense. However, something that I found off about the actual series is how easily team RWBY found their footing. There was no hesitation or awkwardness, they just picked up right where they left off. Which is something I didn’t find realistic. Especially considering Ruby has been working with 3 different teammates and hasn’t had to coordinate WBY for almost a year. So I was wondering if you were thinking of giving team RNJR and RWBY an adjustment period to get back in sync, and maybe have a conversation about the new team dynamics. I do realize it is still early for this, but it is something to think about. 3. Jaune outfit. I understand that most of the outfits in volume 4 didn’t exactly match the characters, but in Jaune case, I was under the impression that his appearance through volumes 1-8 made a natural progression from weak and inexperienced to a fully capable huntsman. Another thing I found confusing was the blue coloring that was added into his character. Why? I found that odd, as Jaune has never been connected to the color blue. Anyway that’s it from me. I really like this series and can’t wait to see what you do with the dumpster fire that is volume 5

I think Jaune's sword could have worked with a minor change. Rather than the sword popping out the new blades slightly out, it should have extended out making it a full bastard sword. It would give Jaune an option for larger grim as well as letting the animators play with a completely new fighting style.

I kinda liked the idea of getting a stronger blade when sheathed. It could let Jaune play kinda like Link in botw and totk. Letting him use one-handed weapons with a shield and then swap to a claymore with much stronger strikes. so maybe sheathing the sword could make the blade larger or something similar along those lines.

I can't decide if I like this characterization of Neo more than her canon counterpart. I honestly kinda like that she was always a bit of a sociopathic demon child in her origin story, even if I didn't really fuck with her overall plotline too much. Same with Roman's characterization in the novel but I liked his story better. I will admit that the dynamic between her and Yang is cute with this different personality that she's been given for the rewrite. It's different...but it's definitely fun.

Granted this is your show and what not but both canon and this set up Sun and Blake so well that at the very least Bumblebee IS NOT canon. Personally this part of the Fixing RWBY series has made me realize my big problem with the Branwen tribe both in RWBY proper and in fan works, and that's how no one ever acknowledges or explores the tribe at all. Which as an indigenous person and an avid worldbuilder/writer is a disappointment, there's just so much you can tackle and explore with it as is in RWBY proper. This isn't so much a critique of this part of FR but more a general disappointment with how its handled in canon & fanon, this might be the thing to make me write fanfiction. But yeah besides that great work Raymond and The Sketchy Huntsmen keep up the good work!!!

Not sure how I feel about Roman and Neo's reintroduction, but I'm willing to see where it goes. So far, you've done a pretty bang up job, aside from a few personal quibbles I have, so I'm willing to see where that goes. I do appreciate that you ended up rolling a lot of the best parts of V5 into V4, so we can almost entirely retool that terrible volume. I'll be honest tho, V4 is one of my favorites out of the show. V4 seems to be pretty heavily regarded as one of the black sheep of the series, but the complaints have never seemed to make sense to me. Most of the complaints seem to be centered around the volume being boring. I mean, to each their own, but I actually don't mind the volume being largely low stakes and centered around all the characters finding a place, given the massive blow to the status quo that the previous volume gave us. Most of the rest of the complaints seem to be about either nitpicking, not enjoying an individual character's story, or minor complaints about some of the awkward character flailing that RWBY is known for, which, to me, sounds like complaining that the grass is green. Anyway, good work, as always, and I'm excited to see what you come up with in the future.

Definitely the best part of this fixing RWBY was the additions to the white Fang and Menagerie Arc. Definitely give that plot area the respect it deserves. I had one question though: DOES ANYTHING RESULT FROM THE HUGE AMOUNT OF EXPLOSIVES CARDIN AND VELVET LEFT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CCT TOWER? I thought that was going to end up being a plot element, like, the whole tower ends up getting toppled, which would explain why global communications continue to be out even after Beacon gets retaken, but that plot piece gets taken care of by Adam taking out the CCT tower at Haven. So I was just curious if that just gets forgotten, not important? just wondering.

I’ve had finals all week but whenever I had downtime I was watching this series. I just recently got back into the series and this is so much better with its additions and changes. Things seem so much better strung together and build upon. At first I was just so curious as to what would happen next but after last time and this time I genuinely got choked up and emotional last time and this video is so amazing. Personally I would think a sickle mode for closer combat would be better. That's something I always find annoying in fantasy shows, the sword is always the go to weapon. Really ask, when was the last time a lead hero protangist (not a side kick) had an axe or a spear. That's what I like about Ruby, crescent Rose is original and scythes look cool. However, a sickle would make more sense, and considering the silver power is essentially being Medusa for Grimm, it could be a fun allusion to Perseus.

I'm gonna be completely honest. I really don't like how you cut Oscar and replaced him with Roman. Thats saying a lot, because Roman was my favorite and the only reason I cried in the volume 3 finale. Idk I'm just kinda disappointed that you couldn't make Oscar work, and I think for a rewrite cutting him takes away interesting character moments in volume 7 and 8. Oscar sucked in 4,5, and 6, no denying that, but I think with a little elbow grease and some extra ink and effort he would be worthwhile. Especially his theme of fear and how it can strip people to base emotions and can change you into someone different, it really connect well with the main groups struggle against Salem. Also,,,, Jaunes redesign.... Yikes. I don't want to be a negative Nelly, I genuinely like a ton of story beats! I love how you made conflict between JNPR right before Pyrrha died making it super tragic, like wow. Having Yang go through therapy with Neptune is so brilliant. I was thinking "She's actually talking to someone other than Blake!" and I realized I didn't hate rewrite Yang like I do canon Yang. He's still a dick but also begrudgingly nice sometimes, it makes me smile. His and Velvets relationship is really engaging and whenever they are in a scene I get really excited. I really love this rewrite so far, I think that's why when I don't like something it hits a bit harder than it should for me. I know you put a lot of time and effort into these rewrites and I think you're a great writer, that's why I want to be honest and point out when I don't like something. Love the video!

Great job! But i will counter-argue regarding Jaune’s longsword mode. It has its own use cuz it has the combinr weight of a heavy bastardsword and a heavy shield which makes it a battle axe. The canon never treated as one its just a regular long sword. Many fanfics depicted it as a sword-axe like Hercules from Fate Stay Night or when its just a sheathed blade and bashes it to enemies like a heavy club. A fanfic called My Grimm Classmates can be This Cute shows Jaune destroying a heavily armored grimm.

Yeah, I'm kind of conflicted on that one as well. I LOOOVE Roman, but more as a bad guy. And Oscar was one of my favorite characters. Considering out of all of them he's the only one who got swept up in everything without asking to in the first place, he does the least amount of moaning in the entire crew. And in Volume 8 he really shines as a character.

I know you already did the campfire scene where they explain the maidens but i just realised why the maidens are named the way they are. They aren't named for their ability but for which kingdom they have their vaults in. Like winter is for cold northern Atlas, summer for Vacos with its hot desert, autum for Vale with the forever fall forest (the pretty red one from Blake trailer and the honey collecting episode), and spring for Minstrel cause of ...flowers and pretty trees i guess (it falls a bit apart with Minstrel but all other kingdom maidens fit realy well)
