Spencer based these reed organs after the organs of the Estey Organ Co. and others. I have a model G made by Estey and the stoplist is almost the same.

I’m glad they shipped them to Europe too.

There was also the Rushworth & Dreaper Apollo which was much the same.

It’s nice to know this model was quite successful.

This reed organ is motorized but I've never understood how in the days bygone, people played the pedals while also pumping air into the bellows with thier feet? Nice learning video. 👍

Exactly! Thanks for watching!

They didn't. Only single manual organs (no pedal clavier) were operated by pump foot pedals to provide the vacuum. Organs with two manuals (usually with a pedal clavier) had either a pumping handle for a pumper, or a motor to run the vacuum pump. There were several models -- I rebuilt a Mason & Hamlin at one time - very nice instrument.

this is an organ or harmonium?
@SecretsofOrganPlaying Жыл бұрын
This is a reed organ. A kind of harmonium which sucks the air through the reeds instead of blowing.
