That is an awesome build. Probably the toughest build I ever did. But well... well... worth it. Enjoy, its a fun one.

Outstanding video and workmanship! Top quality content. I love how you quickly state and show the problem and then clearly explain and show how to fix it. No messing around adding filler time to make your videos longer. Subbed!

Very, very informational video. I really like the explanation of why the use of gloves and pre-cleaner is used (many other sites don't). You do a fantastic job of explaining the why and how plus your work is just plain super!! Thank you.

Great video. You sir are extremely talented and your videos are on point. I’m about to paint my iron man helmet. What was your base color for the gold and red pieces? Can’t wait to see what you cover next. I have learned a lot since your channel started. I’ve changed a few of my techniques. Moved on from resin to smooth pieces.
@TheLastLayer1113 ай бұрын
the red is Duplicolor Inferno red, The gold is just Duplicolor GM Gold. and the silver is Duplicolor Chrysler Silver. The gold and Silver are all going to be close, its the Inferno red that really sets it off. For the gold and silver, just Don't use a "Gold or Chrome" plating type shiny paint. It will flatten and look bad, when you put the clear coat on. I stick with duplicolor basecoat type paint for the metallic.

Really appreciate the quality of these videos and covering the small details that most tutorials gloss over. Working on a Rocketeer helmet in the near future but struggling to pick the right painting methods for it, so this helps a lot. Do you have any tips on painting metallics or are they about the same as flat color? The Rocketeer helmet is a slightly tarnished brass color but I haven't figured out quite how to do that yet.
@TheLastLayer1113 ай бұрын
The biggest tip I can give you is, If you are going to top coat it with a matte or gloss clear, test a small area first. A lot of people don't, and top coat can often times "flatten" the metallic look. This happens a lot with "plating" type spray paints. Paints such as Gold Plate or Chrome, they usually do not like being top coated. Although I never tried antique brass, VanOakProps does a great video on painting an antique brass oil lamp. You should check that out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2a8kmqfibOMjbsfeature=shared

little dab of hot glue. I will highlight that in a video. I get asked it a lot.

Hey love your videos, and am really learning a lot from you. I was rewatching one of ur vids in which you were talking abt applying the clear coat, but you mentioned there would be a video on how to apply it without an air gun. Do you still plan on a making a video on that soon?
@TheLastLayer1113 ай бұрын
I do plan on making it. The biggest problem is that they make electric sprayers that are capable of applying 2k clear, but they can be expensive. Im researching cheaper electric alternatives.

@@TheLastLayer111 would you mind telling me where you got the files ?
@TheLastLayer1113 ай бұрын
both came from Thingiverse, both were free files. The bio-mask is naturally a mask, but the actual predator head is not, meaning you cannot wear it, its a display. there is an excellent tutorial on youtube by Creative Compositions that shows how to paint the head with an airbrush.

Awesome video! I've never tried airbrushing spray paint before, Is it really as simple as its shown in the video? Or are there more steps that needs to be accounted for depending on which type of spray paint you use?
@TheLastLayer1113 ай бұрын
Its really is that simple. Spray paint is very thin so it can be propelled out of the can, so, no thinning is needed, although it can be a bit messy and splatter getting it into a cup. I do it all the time for touch ups.
@bvvillz13 ай бұрын
@@TheLastLayer111appreciate the reply! Glad to know it's that simple, I'll definitely be doing that in the future for touch ups. Unrelated, but would you happen to have an email associated with this channel? I would love to pick your brain about a clear coat related issue I had on a project recently, who knows, could be a potential future video for you to talk about, as I had a lot of trouble finding solutions/coverage on what happened to me specifically.

I see that when you do your clear coats you attach the part to a stick and place it into a piece of PVC that you made a stand out of. What do you attach to the stick and to the part?

hay man love your videos I was just wandering were you find your iron man helmet models and how do you get the lest likely fail
@TheLastLayer1113 ай бұрын
That model came from Do3d. I typically orient my Iron Man helmet upside down. Frankly Built did a good video on this a few years back. Honestly with the new organic/tree supports, you can probably get away with different types of orientations.

It looks like you spray inside your garage. How do you keep the smell of the paint and everything else down? What about the fumes? It’s been raining a lot here and trying to do it outside seems like it’ll never happen.
@TheLastLayer111Ай бұрын
I do, i have a large fan, thats vents to the outside. Nothing special, just leave the outside door open and blow it out. I will typically open the doors and blow out the dust when im done. The main thing I do is a good cleaning between projects. Rain can be tough even in a garage. Humidity and temp changes curing speed. Just something to keep in mind when spraying.

What do you use to clean out the air brush and air gun?

Lacquer thinner is typically my go to with the automotive products. For acrylics in the airbrush, i usually use ammonia based product like windex.
