Fixing shift knob gap with reverse lockout adapter!

My first attempt at replacing the shift knob on my Subaru BRZ left an unsightly gap where the shift lever was exposed. Now I shall remedy the problem with an adapter, which I learned the existence of from a comment on a video about a pokeball shift knob with a similar problem. ( • [Product Review] Floss... )

Shift knob probably not specifically made for the car. Other brands with the same ball shape knob don't require any reverse lockout adapter for the 1st gen 86/brz

Do you know if this set up works with a VW Passat

I don’t know. Does the Passat have a manual transmission with a replaceable knob? If so does it have the reverse lockout mechanism that you need to pull on to shift into R? If so I’d look for the size of the thread used for the knob and search for reverse lockout adapters in that size, or look for aftermarket sites that cater to VWs and other German makes.
