Nearly 1/2 I'd say. The original 49cc 2 stroke vs this 31cc 4stroke doesn't have much if any power difference. The 4 stroke has more grunt off the line but falls flat at higher rpm/speed. Where the old 2 stroke takes forever to start moving but keeps pulling at higher rpm than the 4 stroke. How fast was I able to go? around 20mph in speed one(has 2 speeds) and wasn't able to get it to pull away in 2nd gear. I did have a little downhill part that gave me a nudge and I may have hit 25mph. A 120lb kid wouldn't have an issue and this would push 30mph easily in 2nd gear. This doesn't sound fast but you fell like your clipping along at 20mph on this and the steering gets twitchy. I’ve got a Honda string trimmer with a similar engine I bought in 2005. It still starts cold on 2 or 3 pulls and on 1 pull when hot. It’s burning a little oil but that’s probably due to valve seals. No oil and gas to mix and no annoying “mosquito scream.” Honda power is no joke. 😊

That’s pretty cool! Back when I used to race go carts, we used 1/4” freezer line with bulk purchased cable to make throttle cables. It’s nice because you can use the ferrel fittings to mount to whatever brackets you make. Plus you can make them whatever length you want them and they don’t freeze up like the metal sheathing. They will wear out over time but easy and cheap to replace. I don’t recommend them for brakes though unless you soldered the ends.

@@yukonjack. I'm gonna give it a try in my 10+ yr old moving dolly tires. I figured tire slime wouldn't work.....So I bought 2 repair/conversion, innertubes a couple weeks ago for under $10 at harbor ⚓ freight. Instead of 2 new wheels/tires for $25....I'm gonna try the trans fluid 1st, to see how well it works & let em soak for a couple weeks. It'll recondition the inside of tires before I put the tubes in. I made some tire/inner tube liners out of some scrap black rubber roofing material. To help protect against flats from sand burs & goatheads. The diy tire liners worked in my bicycle/no more sand burr flats....There's an automotive product called AT-205 reseal, that works really good also to recondition exterior rubber & internal seals....It's a clear liquid, but now thinking about it, its probably the same chemical additive that's added into trans fluid for the rubber seals. There's a bunch of KZbin videos about the at-205 reseal.

One of the main "death trap" issues with the scooters are the very short handle bars... if you fall, you can get poked hard and have internal organ injuries without more than a bruise on the skin... Just watched a video about a girl who fell, barely had a bruise, but her mom took her to the ER within 24 hoursbecause she had some pain... turned out she was bleeding badly internally.

Hi there! I just subbed cause of this video! I do have a question: I have a 2 stroke stand scooter 49cc, and I was driving one day and half ways I felt like the scooter started going faster than normal top speed and all sudden it bogged down and started clattering/smocking,before the motor shut off, what do you think happened? I noticed on inspection my carburator screws were really loose as was the air filter on top. everything was so loose, did I damage the engine, and what you think would fix it ? I have yet to really inspect it, but it would start but bog down. I also do not have fuel filter installed, could it be that the carburator got clugged up during ride and the motor stalled that way and wont work till I clean it ? I hope I didnt ruin the motor... It still wants to start but its not
@sixtyfiveford
@sixtyfiveford Жыл бұрын
2 stroke revving higher than normal is the engine running too lean. This can be as simple as running out of gas. But can also be an air intake leak.
@cjtronan
@cjtronan Жыл бұрын
@@sixtyfiveford Thank you for the reply, I don't believe the engine was out of gas as I left the house. For the sake of argument, say it did get glogged somewhere fro mthe fuel, would running it 25mph and it suddently died like that with shakes as it slowly died? Also, would that hurt the engine in any form? Im just worried I ruined it, it was like " wow, this thing suddently is faster than usualy" to " oh sh.t its dying , and I see smoke too!" lol... it wasnt that smokey, white smoke when I finally stopped IF it really did hurt it, I would of seen black smoke, right and a lot of nasty smell? Thank you for the replies, you're amazing ! Im glad I subbed, I hope you can reply back to this last time

Most motorcycle riders pretty much only use the front brake... not sure on a scooter if that's better than a rear brake. Rear brakes are easy to lock up. Brake hard, weight goes forward, lifts off the rear, and then the rear locks up.
@sixtyfiveford
@sixtyfiveford Жыл бұрын
Because you stand on these, the center of gravity is just so high up front braking just has to be done very cautiously. It does work better when you're on a hard surface though, than the rear brakes. Problem is if the front tire locks up/ slides on these it immediately dumps you off.

I still use slime from time to time and it works great. However, I think Tireject works slightly better and for way longer. Slime seems to dry out after a year and leaks can reappear. Slime mainly consist of a liquid holding cotton fiber and teeny rubber pieces to seal leaks. Once the liquid dries up, it leaves just a solid clump of cottony rubber stuck to the lowest part of the tire. Not all leaks reappear but I would say 25% do. With Tireject once it's sealed, it's sealed for life. Also you put in so little that it coats everything and there's never a clump left anywhere. Both work good though
