So all u did was clean motherboard with alcohol?? Then put all back together ?

He did what's often called a reflow. You take extremely hot air and heat up the entire board. That causes the solder that joins components to the motherboard to melt and *hopefully* re-flow into their proper place and fix any connections that may have broken over the PC's lifetime of heating and cooling.
