In this episode I’ll point out the fitting issues with the new Revell E Type Jaguar Roadster. Later in the video I show how I fix those issues in preparation for the first coat of primer.
If you enjoy these type of videos please support the channel with a thumbs up and subscribe to be alerted of upcoming installments of this build.
I appreciate all of your support and I strive to make this channel something you look forward to seeing weekly.
Thanks, James

I like how the primer fills the low spots. I’m gonna get some, cause it looks like it’s gonna be easier than the fillers, and puttys that I’m currently using. Thanks again! 👍

Gotta thank you so much for these videos my friend, they really help out a lot. I have two of these kits, convertible and hard top and just ordered some really nice 3D wire wheels for it. Will definitely go back to these videos when I am ready to build mine!!!

Absolutes my friend, my pleasure. The best tip I can give you is to make sure the under hood bracing is tight and straight. It’ll make the front end fit better.

Even after several years the abysmal quality of this "modern tooling" kit still disappoints me. The Heller kits from the 80's are still around in quantity and FAR superior in accuracy and quality.

@@ScaleModelExperiment I restored a '64 Series I E-Type and know these cars much better than most people. I've built the Gunze 1/24, the Heller 1/24, and the Revell. The Revell is the newest of the lot and far inferior to the other two kits. In fact it isn't much better than the original US Revell kit tooled in the '60s.

Thanks for that tutorial on this kit. This particular car is one of my all time favorites. The real car had the same fitment issues on the front end as the kit. As far as the convertible top goes, it makes a beautiful car with the top down look like a platypus with the top up. Looking forward to your finished build. Stay well!

James, my dad built me this very same model in 1970 when I was 7. It was molded in white obviously the original issue of this kit. It had of ton of compounding problems with building and fitment issues and it was a difficult and precarious , tedious model to build of this beautiful car. Full of intricate pieces that broke off in the years ahead, it was built unpainted and had rubber tires. After awhile the weak hinging front end broke off and I just completely glued the front end shut , never seeing the motor again. The front end never closed properly. Its a sigh of relief that this model came into your hands and is going through a facelift getting all those problems sorted out to create a fantastic looking model in the end. As I just watched this old video now, I have complete confidence you have made this model a great one that Revell should 've done in the first place

@@ScaleModelExperiment I'm looking forward to it, my Gunze is the curbside. Body was much cleaner than the new Revell kit, but very simple chassis. I have the high-tech kit to build someday. The Revell version will bridge the gap. When the coupe comes out I may use parts from the Heller racing coupe. Never enough E-Type kits, at least good ones in 1/24th.

@@ScaleModelExperiment It was something I discovered by accident, (on my Profile 24 resin Jag E Type low drag coupe), but knowing that I use it to my advantage now. Some stuff that I "might" want to take apart at some point in the future gets glued in with this, even on finished models. My latest glue has a green label, seems to be the same as the red label. Good stuff!
