Thank you for taking this on the journey and this is the first time I ever seen you do repairs of your fence and posts. I really enjoy watching this.

Seeing you working on the ramp reminded me when we finally put in a concrete loading ramp ,should have done it earlier. I think we used it 3 times, before we bough a 5th wheel trailer.never used the ramp after that😊 thanks for your videos.nice to see dad still going strong,total Ironman.

Alright Andrew. You can see the whole ramp move as the truck backs into it,might be why the back post on that side is damaged too. Tasty job tidying it up,I think adding the extra fill is the right idea.You could run a board maybe a 2 or 3 inch thick piece down the opposite side so when the trucks reverse in they touch both sides.

Have you considered changing the dry cow product or maybe treating cows before using dry cow.

@@peasant5612 Thanks so much for replying. I tend to just homekill and distribute to family. I might send a few in next time. Not a dairy herd.

@@user-pr8ib1sh8v The price is generally at lowest this time of year, autumn. Can get over $4 in the spring through to Christmas generally. And depending on the grading

Are the cows in calf that your slaughter?
@trevorstewart8

No as that would be a waste of a calf.

@@trevorstewart8 I was born and brought up on a farm with Jersey cows, but we never sent cows to slaughter whilst milking. I would imagine that most of the cows would've been A I 'd by now.

It's likely that a couple of those high somatic cows would have been incalf. Particularly the ones constantly high that he showed on the graph. So he's culling empties and high chronic high SCC cows whether empty or incalf. That's the advantage of low empty rates, it allows the farmer to capitalise by culling the poor cows and improving the overall herd in different metrics
