thank you! my passenger side skirt for my 2013 speed 3 isn't as bad as yours, but did notice part of it falling loose after buying the car. I'll have to use this vid when it gets nice out to take a look if any clips are gone or broken.

Thread inserts ( rivet type) into the holes with some rubber spacers and a nice flat allen style bolt through the outside of the skirts OR , hollow threaded studs that would go into the thread inserts and holes on the outside of the skirt and the plastic push in GM style holders.... the side skirts are nice but the holding method is definitely a weak link. I just bought some of the after market side skirts for my 2013 at Bayson R Motorsports in San Jose, CA ......as I live close I drove over and did a quick test fit, they have metal brackets on the bottom that are "dog leg" shaped so the bolt on and 3M tape down the entire top . Looking forward to getting them installed ( minus the tape ) so I can remove them and do them Matte Black with the paint shop rattle cans with the hardener built in .... such an easy way to paint them.........

I actually dealt with exactly this just recently. I didn't use epoxy though, I plastic-welded those brackets which made them WAY stronger than they were from the factory. I strongly recommend looking into that, and you can pick up a plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight for about $13. Sadly, the fasteners I got from Amazon didn't hold up and I have to replace them again, but the tabs ON the skirts are still fine.

Hey, love your video!❤ One of the best! I own a regular Mazda 3 2013 and I damaged the side skirt (stock one) looks simalar to your in the vide and has holes with white pins like on your video. I wonder if I can completely remove the skirts and just drive without it, but then it would mean I live the holes exposed to salt (where the pins live), water and dirt which is not right, so I guess I have to replace the skirt, and if so, what is the name of the skirt?? Can I purchase stock? Thanks in advance :)

It's been 3 yrs but do you remember the process of removal? It needs to come off to replace the front fender. It moves forward but did you bend the lip that curls into the rear wheel well down and tap it forward ? tia

Maybe some heavy duty 3m tape can work on the sideskirt . Try it on the part that is missing the clip . Your speed 3 is a nice car don’t neglect the upkeep .

Suggestion for a bit more permanent solution mark where each clip is on the outside of the side skirts and remove the clips from the car and just bolt the side skirts to the car it would be easier to remove in the future when this problem happens again.

Maybe an aluminum strip or thin metal bracket , bendable , anchor that to the sideskirt inside via strong glob of Jbweld put clip on the other end fasten it . Jbweld fixed my sub outback rear spoiler . Posts where screws hang on to broke and job weld came to the rescue . Just trying to help man .

4:50 "this is a super common problem with this car"??? Tha hell! LOL Looks like you were nasty to speed bulbs while lowered... my 2013 has none of these issues, and I have raced it quite hard on track and 1/4 mile My only accident was hitting the engine's carter with a single lane divider (metal type bump) which cut the steel support to the lower engine bay cover (between the bump and the aluminum engine cover, yikes)… I solder it and it was fixed but I bought a new one eventually just to maintain peace of mind The rear spoiler also lost a screw/nut and it could be heard while closing the trunk... that is a main issue of the Speed: it will happen, and repeat itself he he Vibration wise I replaced all the engine and transmission's mounts... and still nothing But I digress

Sell it, get a Prius, problem solved. Mine has been perfect 90k so far none of these issues, and definitely has not been a money pit. Only regular maintenance and I drive it hard every day since new.
