Looks MUCH better with the wing. The color mismatch is probably mostly due to fade/yellowing over the years, but I've also noticed in several car parts I've painted on 80's cars, they use an almost black dark gray primer, that might be part of why it's so much brighter. If you have any paint left you can test that out on a piece of cardboard and place it on the car.

It hink so too, looks way better all white😍 The FC actually got a brand new paintjob before I got it😅 So I sadly think it's just a combo of different materials and the spraypaint not being 100% accurate.

Yeah it's getting closer and closer!😍 Sadly it will probably not be a 1:1 replica since I am still missing the RE Amemiya mirrors, the S5 trim and many small details but so far it is coming along very well and I cannot wait to finally drive it🙏

I couldn't remember if the Odura front lip fit on the S4 FC, and I remembered you had an S4, so I came back to rewatch the video lmao

Lol yeah most people say it doesn't fit BUT it actually does😂 The radius of the front bumper curve is just a liiiiittle different from the S4 to the S5 so you will have to heat up the fiberglass a bit and bend it carefully into shape. But it works very well and fast! :)

Surprised that front lip fits well with the s4 fc. For people who don’t know, that lip was originally for the s5 fc I believe it’s from Shineauto.

Yeah as I said in the video, it needs some light modification to fit it as the S5 has a different bumper radius. But anyone can do it, it is very simple and it looks amazing :)

You have put so much work into the Rx7 in two months of owning the car then i have in 8 years of owning mine. 🤣 The no spark is really killing me i just want to tear it all down and start over. I want to buy another Rx7 to swap parts around to see what could be the problem the start from there. Once that's good tear it down to fix any rust that could be hiding because i want to restore it and have the car clean for another 30+ years.

Great video! Really enjoying your progress. - where did you route the cables for the rear dash cam? Were you able to hide them anywhere?

Thanks man, I'm happy you're enjoying the series✌️ Funny that you ask, I actually had the wire routing part included in the video before deciding to edit it out because I thought I was talking too much in during the shot😂 Anyways I routed the rear dashcam cables from the headliner through the B-Pillar down through the bottom door trim, up the dash and through to the ashtray in the center console. This way you can't see any wires, neither from the front or rear dashcam :) Had to remove some panels to properly route them but it was worth the effort👍

@@nickchalmers-francis6278 Yeah I also really like how the screen looks :) Also for the price I think you can't go wrong with it, especially because of the 2 included dashcams👌 They also have the P9 which is a little bigger and slimmer but the for the FC the P8 fits perfectly where the ashtray usually goes so I went with it. I'm glad you're enjoying the build so far and definetly feel free to keep me updated with how your FC build goes😁

Yeah it really hurts... And the worst part is that you just HAVE TO pay it because you can only get the right parts on specific websites🥲 You won't believe how long I've searched for an alternative for the Corksport lip because it was just soo expensive. Sadly there was nothing so it was either paying way too much money for a lip or not having a lip at all :(

If you get it detailed/paint correction, the old paint maybe match the new paint better.

Can you move the gauges somewhere else so thst the double din screen can sit flat and higher? I think that would be a cleaner look

I tried different spots for the gauges but I can't really put them anywhere else... Also I removed the screen again because I wanted to keep it more period correct - Problem solved😄

Great works! Painful to hear the front lip ends up costing that much more. I am in the same boat as you trying to source an exhaust trim piece for my WRX and just can't justify how much a brand new one costs.

Yeah tbh at this point I'm thinking I would have been better off buying a Lambo, at least there parts are cheaper than for these old japanese cars😂 Really getring out of hand... What kind of WRX do you have, a GC8?

Thanks man!🙏 There is no bracket yet... I was planning to use the included suction cup bracket but sadly it was a little too big so the headunit would have protruded from the Ashtray area. I will probably 3D print a mount in the future but thankfully it doesn't move while shifting because it just fits perfectly :) The Display is 170x100mm and the Ashtray area is 175x100mm so it fits like a glove and doesn't interfere with the shifter😄

Really nice job, but in my opinion in order not to go back with your project progress you should go with the S5 bumpers and exterior molding!!!

I get where you're coming from, I thought so too in the beginning but lately the S4 trim is really growing on me :) So much, that now I actually prefer the S4 looks over the S5 (except for the taillights)😂 Of course this means, it will not be a 1:1 replica but so be it, I think it will still turn out awesome while being a nice tribute car🙏

I've just ordered a vinyl Red Suns set from the US. $40 for the vinyl and $30 for the shipping... and that doesn't include the customs. But it's the same from Japan. I've got a Hks Hi power exhaust on the way. $330 in shipping...

I reaaally want to get myself a pair of RE Amemiya mirrors to make the build more authentic but they are just soo expensive🥲 But they will definetly be my next investement for the FC once I can justify spending $600 for a pair of side mirrors :(

imo on that tablet thingy it doesnt really go in so i would trim a littleeeeee bit off that plastic and put it in and close it back so its like a factory tablet or smth. Cool video tho man keep it up

Yeah I will have to find a better solution for the placement. It fits like a glove where it is right now but I'm also not 100% happy with how it sits. However I'm not going to cut up the interior trim of the FC for this thing😅

I bought it from eBay, don't remember the brand though. It was a little cheaper than the go to Koyo. The quality is surprisingly good, it's really beefy and it's even a 3 row full aluminium rad so I guess it will perform great :)
