Great video! I just put a new carb on my sons 2001. The 2 rubber hoses attached to the carb. 1 routes just to the frame for excess fuel dump I believe. But the other hose coming off the left side of the carb I have no idea where I took it off from originally. Any idea where it goes? I appreciate it

Those rear carrier bearings need replaced yesterday. You will throw your chain and potentially crack your case. It’s not hard to do. Lots of videos good luck

We plan on it in the future. The machine belongs to a buddy of ours, and he’s juggling a few projects right now.

I just purchased one of these and its in rough shape. My question it that my front drive sprocket is loose or has play and so does the rear break bracket that hold the rear caliper. How do you snug up the bracket bracket and should the drive sprocket have play side to side ? Just subscribed 👍
@rustednutrepair6753 жыл бұрын
There should be some play in the front sprocket. That's normal. As for the rear caliper, we will post a clip in next week's video where we show the rear brake bracket. Hope that helps.

I know this may sound crazy, but the carb comes with 2 black lines, ones is for the fuel over flow, but where does the other one go? Your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'll have to ask Stitches tomorrow and have him post a comment about it. He did most of the work on the Honda 300EX

Sorry if I missed it but did you buy and oem carb or one of Amazon?
@rustednutrepair6752 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember what Archie bought, but more than likely it was an Amazon carburetor. It runs like a top, regardless. Thanks for watching!

@@rustednutrepair675 good to know those Amazon carbs are good. Thank you

As long as you jet them, they work well. Make sure you check the jetting though!!

What shock did you end up going with? Just bought an 04 trx300ex and have been looking all over for a complete rear shock and cant find anything new only used ones and the new one for sale on ebay is 700 so trying to see if theres other options out there
@rustednutrepair6752 жыл бұрын
We haven't convinced our buddy into replacing the shock yet. We have a new video on the Honda going live in the morning where we did a bit more work to the 300EX.

Hi Chris! Let me know if you found a rear shock... I have a 2005 300ex I bought and rear shock is so shot and doesn't work at all it literally a bounce house... I did find one on ebay which is a used one but suppose to be in good condition and I should be installing it within the next week or two... but if you found another shock that fits the rear and works great please let me know :)

On our buddies, it’s on the same side as the choke lever; it’s the small flat head on the bottom. Check yours and see if it’s there.

@@rustednutrepair675 that’s perfect so is mine ,I’m having the same tapping problem coming from the Valves what where the measurements you used on the feeler gauge and did the tapping completely stop?
@rustednutrepair6753 жыл бұрын
The intake lash is .004” and the exhaust lash is .005”. It removed all of the tapping. On this machine the exhaust was at .008”.
