fixing up our sliding door on our van conversion

hello again!
It's time to tackle our sliding door for our mercedes sprinter to get ready to make our overhanging step! It needed a LOT of TLC and (like most hidden parts) needed rust proofing and re-painting. While SJ does this, Otis carries on cutting our new plywood floor which has needed lots of cutting in, extra notches. Seems simple enough, right? 😭
We are STILL waiting for our foil tape for our floor insulation 🫠 so a message to the eBay seller is needed to see what dimension that has gone to.

Love it guys. Great video. Can't believe how nasty it was under the side step. But feels good getting those bits looking like new hey, and nice to have that ply cut and ready to fix down 👍I'll be really interested to see your final set up. Thanks mate 🙌🏻 yeah it was proper nasty under there but felt good to clean and start thinking about the step/over hang bit for kitchen / sofa - our first bit of actual woodwork making that is coming up 😬 Yeah excited to see your final set up too - I love how different everybody’s is and I think weve got a few unique things we’ll be doing 😬 Thanks re the trailer I also love those bits that SJ does (Otis here commenting) - they always get me psyched to rough edit the next one 😅

I love that little corner trick! My van was on a farm before I had it and the thick clay mud underneath that step was incredible, I'm surprised the door still slid anywhere! Took me ages to clean! And I totally hear you, converting a van with no experience means spending a lot of time overwhelmed!!!

The wheel arch box corner trick?? Aye when I discovered that (Greg Virgoe haha) I was like - game changer!! Oh gosh - I imagine it got proper dirty on a farm 😅 was it worse than ours haha?? It is huuugely overwhelming isn’t it! But hopefully hugely rewarding when we get there!!

@@idstewart1964 😅😅 in fairness when we said table saw at the end we’re putting the chop saw a way to retrieve the table saw - but we definitely are noobs and get a lot wrong, including saying nails instead of screws and lino instead of vinyl lmao - thanks for the cracking content comment though!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
