Fixing you Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 Tent shock cord for Less Than FIVE Bucks?!

Has your tent pole cord lost its elastic tension? You can repair your tent pole shock cord which costs you less than $5. It takes about 20-30 minutes of your time to repair with the basic materials that you may already own. This is specifically replacing the Big Agnes Fly Creek 2 Tent shock cord.

Just wondering....if you measure the new shock cord to be the same length as the old stretched out one, isn't it going to be equally saggy (if not more)?? Seems like you'd need to make it a bit shorter so that it would have some stretch to it. It seemed to work for you though, so just wanted to be sure before I embark on the project. Mine is really stretched out!

To answer your questions, I did cut the length same length as the old stretch out one. It did become equally saggy and that is where I make the adjustment in elastic tension afterward and trim the excessive shock cord. The cord elastic adjustment is depending on how much elastic tension you want the tent pole to be easily open and close. Please keep in mind that if you are cutting the shock cord too short, then shock cord becomes useless and eventually you will need another longer shock cord.
