My first guess when you gave away the letter T was Turkey - or no, I might have even guessed that before the T-bit. Then I swapped to Tunisia. Then I remembered the Spanish clue and since I (living in Germany) have a classmate from Tunisia I know for a fact that they are not speaking that much Spanish over there... Then I couldn't come up with a word of an island that was lingering at the back of my head, but then I REMEMBERED it: Tenerife (or "Teneriffa" as we call it over here). At first I wasn't sure whether this would match with the volcano clue... But I looked it up and it does :-) So I have learned something NEW today and that makes me happy...
