FJ Cruiser Seat Risers (Jackers) - Worth the Hype? Maybe not...

I have seen and read many reviews on seat risers for the Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, 4runner, Lexus, and I have never seen a negative review. Granted, many of those reviewers are probably paid endorsers, but still, the idea of a simple mod that creates better seating support, was something I had to try for myself. So I did. This is what I think about it.
For what it's worth, I'm 5'9"

Definitely worth the hype. I never understood why Toyota puts their seats so low to the floor like a car would have.

I agree, they are low. At least they gave us enough headroom to allow us to raise the seat all the way up. The only drawback to that is that we can't see the traffic signal at the front of the line.

I agree with you. I’ve traveled many miles in my cruiser. Never had an issue with my seating. Always felt comfortable behind the wheel.

I guess it may depend on the height of a driver. I found 4runner seats to be much more comfortable, and FJ Cruiser is giving me some questions about that. What's your height?

The set that I have are designed for the rear mounting brackets. Love them ! Being 5' 9", tall and with lower back issues, it gives me better visibility and comfort.

I am 5'9" with back problems too. I will say that for short drives, I really enjoyed these, but for the long ride, I was disappointed with the leg circulation.

@LiL13izzy7 I have disc pinching nervs and with the rear elevated seems to help me sit more upright and prevent me from slouching in the seat. My knees don't move inward like you described. You may want to try installing them in the rear mounting brackets. Mine are blocked shaped that just mount to the bottom of the seat mounts.

Really. I thought they were made for the rear. That way it gave you a better line of sight to the end of your hood and you don't feel like your sitting in a bowl. Personally I don't have an issue with the seat but it is fun to try different things as you never know. 100 bucks seems a bit much but Ebay seems an option.

Raising the front will obviously cause more fatigue due to the further closing the angle of your lower and upper torso. Kinda like a toddler seated in a car seat. Now if you raise the rear instead, it’ll free up the angle of your upper and lower torso apart. Your goal is to be seated like you’re seating in a regular chair instead of a hammock.

Nah, the kids love the FJ. One day, I'll pass it along to one of them. I might have to get one more so they don't fight over who gets it.

I've seen videos where they put the risers in the back part of the seat. Can you try that out? I'd like to know comfort/visibility that way.

I installed a pair on my drivers seat rear end and the ride is much better

I’ve actually been looking to raise the rear of the seat, I have it at max position.

It is best to raise the chair from the back only, and things will be fine

My Fj seats cause aching after hour 3 whereas my fj80 seats are super comfortable and sit high

The major benifit is more room for the rear passengers legs and feet.

hey they are not meant for driver seat ...the seat with the problem is the right side and you need those angled in the front and 2 straits for the rear bolts ...ha ha you have no idea

I actually bought a second set for the passenger side as well. The passenger side dash is already uncomfortably close to the knees , and raising the seat would have kept the knees from going under that vertical panel over the glove box.

you dont understand they are ment for passenger side cause it dont have regulation but you got just the ones for the front and the most important is the rear bolts@@LiL13izzy7 YOU HAVE TO LEVEL UP ALL 4 BOLTS TRYING TO KEEP THE ANGLE ....you get it now? ...i level up mine with the round spacers in the rear bolts but level up 1 inch its not enough ...i level up mine 3 inch in the rear bolts and 2.5 inch in the front ...and it is perfect now...note you have to put the angled ones on top of the round ones and some washers and to cover that in aliexpress they sale some plastic covers for the front bolts and front seat legs looks very nice ...and you have to get longer bolts my friend
