Hi Jules the location of the vacuum push button is shown in the FJ parts book, just above the light switch. I don,t think FJs had the foot operated washers, the peddle type has two types, the one you showed is for FE to FB with a fitting for a cable to start the wipers the second type has an switch on it to start the electric wiper motor. The bellows create a vacuum that goes to the top of the vacuum pot on the washer bottle. The other small donut pumps water, so water in water out. The vacuum push button connects the vacuum from the manifold to the top of the vacuum pot on top of the washer bottle. With the rocker cover I have seen an aluminum cap that screws over the oil cap.I like the ideas about the door scratch plates. Thanks for all the information on your channel.

Hello Rex. Thanks for the reply. In my experience Day 2 accessories fitted by the dealer could have hardware mounted in many locations. They had their own way of doing things no matter what the book said. Yes there was other types as I indicated and these would have been used as replacement parts or as a restorer if you could not get the button. Interesting to see the pedal type on 1969 Mopar recently.

@@rexbanfield4368 thanks for the note about an episode 2 years ago. Yes the nasco booklet shows the button in that position at the time of publishing. Screen Clean kits were an extra at least for fx fj and fitted by the dealer at or after delivery. Given that the installer would put button and the bracket for the glass bottle in what the considered the best place or what they normally do. Hence why we see variation in how and where things. Dealers were not as strict as the factory which required everything in the same place. The cigarette lighter has at least 4 different positions and things change. This is why I never get caught up when placement or parts are a little different as I realise from experience the way people do things can change.
