It's easier if you make the patch first, trace around where you want to put it, and then cut the hole to suit the patch, instead of the other way around. For next time :D

Last time I patched a larger hole without a drip rail under it, I did that and tacked it, then cut and tacked each side and it frenched right in. This way is a piece of cake too though
