My recently purchased '16 FJR had the tranny update several months before I purchased her. She only has 3000 miles on the clock. My only complaint is that the gear box is a little clunky. That is unless I shift perfectly with no rpm dip or over-rev. Wondering if this is normal for the '16? I have no others to compare it to, nor is there any real answers on the net forums. I'm hoping it's just the fairing enclosing the engine, which transmits louder than an open bike. Thanks, Ron

Did I miss something ? You didn’t even talk about the repair other than you like the guys that work there. The repair is a major job with removing the motor and trans and splitting the cases. Does it shift any better, same ? Do you feel the ecu reprogram that was part of the recall which some owners say makes the rev limiter kick in if you accelerate too hard in second gear. So many questions?? But I’m glad you made some new friends at the dealership

I didn't notice any difference, but I ride easy and casual. Feel is the same for me. Sorry, nothing to report.

@@AZLetendre thank you - I wasn’t trying to be snippy (I read my comment and it sounded that way). I have a ‘22 on order and am getting nervous about potential problem (I know recall is only up to ‘20 model year). I always thought he FJR was bulletproof. Crazy how a problem shows up now after all these years

@@on2wheels275 It's not a problem. There is actually another recall on the 2020 but I have to get handled this spring. I wish I rode it more and had more videos to share but I'm dealing with some back pain right now that I have to find a solution for otherwise the bike will end up for sale.

Thanks for sharing. Did you capture the strapping down of your FJR? If you did, please do share it as I am very uncomfortable doing it on my 2020 FJR. Thanks

It part 1, I show the straps I used as well as how to secure it.

Where did you get the yamaha emblem on the panels
@AZLetendre3 жыл бұрын
It's part off the decal itself. They company's I bought them from us fine but there are others, just search reflective black decals for FJR

Thanks for the info. Can I ask you after maybe a year how do you like your fjr? I still don't know if I will choose the FJR or the Super Tenerer. I drive most of the time on regular road but I want to be able to go camping on unpaved road.

Great question. I have never ridden dirt bikes or much on dirt at all, so I can't really compare it on that front. I will say, my life over the last year has gotten crazy and so I have still not put many miles on the FJR. What riding I have done, the seat is very hard and not to my liking. An intermediate fix will be considered this summer while a long term fix later. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, just wish I had more time to ride.

Did they even do the work? Did you ride it before giving it a "fabulous" rating? I get it, you like the attention you got but did they deliver on the actual recall work?! I'd rather have ZERO attention but absolute certainty that a thorough and quality job was done.
@AZLetendre3 жыл бұрын
Yes, actually I did. And the Fabulous rating was for customer service and communication. Thanks for watching. As for the attention, my channel is a bonding project between me and my son, so I hope you enjoy the videos.

I watched part 1 and part 2 of recall but part 2 was more of helping load and helmet and accessories, what work did they do on recall? 2nd gear? and did they reprogram ECU for lower rpm, that is what I read on the recall notice from yamaha for the 2nd gear recall.
