Late to this song. But I wanna vent cause idk this song is hitting the correct strings. I had a girlfriend in the past. things were amazing, but I was with someone else and as someone who wasn’t with many girls and struggled socially I didn’t know what to do. Family weren’t helpful, and I had no friends. It fell apart and life did also. My father who was in jail my whole life came out right after, we enjoyed time with him and he made his specially rolls no bake cheesecake. He died two weeks later by falling off a bridge after hitting the barrier with his motorcycle. I fell apart, I was kicked out for coming out as bisexual and I just bounced from being homeless to being in a house that wasn’t mine. After two years of true discovery and humbling experiences I came to terms with who I am and how life is going to pan out. I realized that I have my brother, father, nephew and more on my back. I’m the key to my own, and their happinesses. I know what I need to do. I’m on the right steps, and my father is walking the way for me step by step. I finally had the opportunity to talk to the girl I cheated on. With how life has been moving for me, and how things aligned we met. It felt like no time went by-two years like nothing. She looked beautiful, and she just gives me a big hug. I was feeling cold and it felt like being under a thick blanket. I knew this was supposed to happen. The hour and a half drive felt so slow cause the conversation we had was so heavy. The air was thick and I couldn’t do nothing else but stare at her and cry. I just K N E W she was the one. I promised her I’ll make sure she’s secure, that she’ll never feel alone again. We’re together now, we’re getting a place in Philly next year. I type this in a hotel bed at midnight with this song in my ear. I landed and amazing job and they paid for my hotel travel and food to do training. It’s the end of the song. It just feels like it all made sense. In due time I’ll come back to update y’all. Understand me when I say that love is real despite what happens (realistically speaking). Follow your heart wherever it goes whether to someone, a passion, a culture, whatever. Make your life the best you can make it, and know that you have the capability of becoming the best you that you can be. 🤎
