Rod is truly great. Stairway to Heaven is one of my most loved songs. Nothing greater than a song that lasts decade after decade. It was a fun time, wish I could go back. Today, is a mess compared to then. Our once sweet country is gone.

Me too. I like most of his songs, almost all, and it was so nice the 80's ( I know he started in 70's) but the 80's are the top still are...and this singer knew how to go older very well, he really is one rare that looks super, for his age and no plastics, or not exagerated which seems to be a problem, for others. They do so many and start at such younger age, that when they reach 50 the face looks horrible instead of nice.

After my mom got diagnosed with lung cancer, I brought my gigstar karaoke machine over. She sung this song. I still have the video. She finally passed two and a half years after her diagnosis. She fought so damn hard... This video, and song I will always cherish, because I know just how many times her very ears have heard it and love it. I try to put myself in those exact moments somehow when I listen... Rip mom august 27th 1957- February 5th 2023 ❤️💜🌎🌈🙏🌙🌍

When I was pregnant with my daughter, this song always came up on the drive to work, and she would kick kick kick in the womb. When she was born, knowing then we had an hour, maybe two before she would die, we played this song to her. It’s Sophie’s song. She died of a complex heart condition in September 2020 and the line “you stole my heart and that’s what really hurts” really connects us to the song. I cry whenever this is played.

"Maggie May" is more than just another song; it holds a sentimental place in my heart. The nostalgic opening guitar riff, coupled with Rod Stewart's soulful vocals, transports me back to the carefree days of my youth. The lyrics perfectly capture the unrequited love and coming-of-age experiences that many of us can relate to. This song showcases Rod Stewart's undeniable talent. The combination of his raspy yet melodic voice, the energetic guitar solos, and the infectious rhythm creates an unforgettable listening experience. The folk-inspired melodies seamlessly blend with rock elements, making "Maggie May" a true masterpiece of musical craftsmanship.

Driving with you down North Lamar in Austin, you had this old rambler i think it was, it had push buttons for the gears lol.. I really learned to drive in that old clunker thanks to you, we'd go horseback riding at your uncle's ranch.. then you were drafted to Vietnam.. before leaving you dedicated this song to me, you wrote me letters, sent me this recorded 45 of your voice, sent me a beautiful silk house dress, and very touching Holy Bible that i still have today..some 53 years later, so, wherever you are Sid Smith thanks for the memories, I will never ever forget you..I wish things had turned out differently, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.. maybe, just maybe we shall meet again in the next life..🙏❤️🙏🕊️✌️

She was partly right most people think all IRISH are DRUNKS. I think IRISH are Special born with Red Hair & Freckels. Its True REDHEADS get made fun of. Grade school the girls said my Freckels were cute on my face. Not gonna lie some of my siblings liked there Alcohol. This is funny 1 Brother thought he be in more trouble in Court cause of his IRISH name. We were 70s kids Brady Bunch, Partridge Family Leave it to Beaver. I was in the Navy and went to the Philippines in the summer of 93, and I remember I went to my first club in Manila and they were throwing down off of this song, the club had 2 levels and everyone was dancing, I hear this song and I go right back to that time period

My dad loves to tell me the stories of seeing Rod in concert. He always says that the lights would all go out, excitement would ripple through the crowd and right at “Wake up Maggie” the lights would come back on and the crowd would go crazy. And how Rod would always kick soccer balls into the audience ⚽️

To think that Rod never thought this song would be a hit. It was the B side of a 45 he put out. Some DJ in Cleveland thought the tune was really good and started playing it, another DJ in Chicago heard that it was being requested heavily in Cleveland so he gave it a try on the Chicago radio station, the requests took off like lightning! It swept the nation and the world!
