How can this be "good" for beginners? xD Beginners are going to remain beginners for more time now, since they are going to rely on an AI tool instead of understanding how sound works... I don't care if your final mix sounds better or worse, you are still a nobody untill you learn theory. That's like a Grand Master in chess that looks at his chess engine at his phone to play all the correct moves. You are not a good player you will never become one.

What are some of the "gotchas" to look out for when using this functionality? For example, I tend to push all the final audio through Maximus anyway, and after some quick testing the AI doesn't seem to make any significant adjustments to the render, is it relying pretty heavily on receiving something much more raw to work with?

considering it targets a certain lufs value i imagine if you're already there it does very little, so yeah sending something with more dynamic range is probably going to yield more dramatic results

I didnt expect automatic loudness matching, but that you can't even manually adjust the loudness is an absolute no-go, especially when you even encourage blind A/B-ing

I think this is a great feature. If I could wish for one little alteration then it would be that the output files are loudness matched. I cannot compare different masters (or my mix) if they are not the same perceived loudness. Other than that - awesome!

What i have ovserved is that this AI mastering tool will give you a mastered file with peaks touching -0.1 dbs. I thing -1 db should be applied to compensate any possible distortions by streaming services

Lmao, AI mastering less than half a year will obliterate any manual mastering effort. Soon with AI all you have to do is pick a sample/genre/style song you want your mix to sound like and you are good to go.

It depends. The AI probably doesn't know all of the details of your track. So if you want a master that is a little bit different, I don't think it will work.

This will destroy ur mix, cause each track comes with different frequencies, u won't have full control of ur mix, master or frequency cut before boosting .I prefer doing it manually, cause ai will never get perfect

1:18 So, we recommend you master your song to their specific level. Please god no. Don't try to master to a "target loudness". Imagine mastering a death metal at -14LUFS because Spotify has a "target loudness" (btw on pc you can turn off normalizing and you will hear the majority of tracks aren't mastered to -14LUFS). THE BAND WOULD BEAT YOU TO A PULP. There are exceptions ofc (mostly more dynamic genres like jazz).

Please do master to a rough target. I agree that it doesn't have to be -14 or whatever a streaming service wants. But I 100% disagree with the "do not master to a target" argument. Check out what other people's masters are like in the style of music you're making and absolutely DO make that your reference. And don't get me wrong nothing against death metal, noisecore or high energy DnB, but the music most people want to make, the Taylor Swifts and Young Cough Syrups of the world actually do end up closer to -14 than -8 integrated.
