The FL Studio demo is a "time unlimited" trial. i.e. it never expires. Pretty much the only thing restricted I believe, is that demo users cannot reopen any saved project files. So if someone is using the demo, they either have to render and export their projects as audio files/stems. Alternatively, they can still save their projects as normal, but they would have to purchase a licence in order to be able to reopen and continue working on those same projects as a registered user. I have even heard some stories of people leave the FL Studio demo running for days at a time, while continuing to work on projects, to circumvent the 'save/re-opening' project files restriction.

I found FL a long time ago through piracy, and never really used it except to check out what it could do and hear the demo songs. A few years ago, I put my foot down and bought one of the lower tier FL editions, and have over time worked up to now being the proud owner of the all plugins version. I feel redeemed for my earlier piracy of the software. I have been using FL over the last few years to take my favorite songs and enhance them and post the results on my channel for all to see. FL is a wonderful tool for creativity and expression. I keep learning more and more as I use FL and I am a big fan of the features and the reliability of the FL Studio software. FL offering the full demo, allowing to save files, is EXTREMELY commendable.

I own FL Studio, Ableton, and Bitwig. Wouldnt have purchased any of them if I hadnt had about a year to play with them first for free by pirating. In FLs case, more like 8 years. Anyone using em should definitely buy them, but I definitely never would have gotten into these software without having the time to learn them in the first place. Piracy is not bad perse, the amount of good new music, games, movies, etc I discovered because I downloaded them illegally or watched some random youtube channel who ripped the music and uploaded it to his channel. Some of them you even end up buying because you like them so much. Also, new producers need to start somewhere. Most of them lack knowledge in a lot of areas and rely on certain daws, plugins, soundbanks, midi and etc to get started. More is certainly not better but there's a middle ground and it can also spark a persons creativity and motivate them to keep going. Until they have a better idea of what they're doing and actually know which plugins they really need and want to invest money in. And I'd say as long as someone isn't running a business and making money from it, then it should be acceptable.

I literally just bought the full version this year after using a cracked FL 11 for years, it’s nice to finally have a modern version and to know that I actually OWN the software now. I also feel like their price/business model is very fair and consumer friendly especially considering a lot of modern business models for art programs in the industry. If people are gonna share cracked versions, do it on an alt. I'm on FL Studio's side 100%. The FL Studio trial gives you access to everything in the full version and it lasts forever. The only limitation is that you can't open projects saved during the trial. That's plenty to learn the software and see if you want to keep using it. Also, it's not good to assume Everyone who pirated FL Studio intends to buy it later.

You don't even need to pirate FLS. I used FL Studio 9 for years. I was just tinkering, had no real clue how to use it, so I never bought it. However, you can drop Edison into a instrument slot, record your song or beat or whatever as you play it back, then save the audio as a WAV or MP3. You can then import that back into FLS as a sample. Easy Peesy. No violation of ToS, no legal trouble. FL Studio 9 was AMAZING. I honestly prefer it to all the newer versions, simply because I'm more familiar with it.

I love FL Studios and Reason but I hate monthly subscriptions I wish we could just buy a license like back in the day same goes for Adobe.

crazy approach, under 21 you are allowed to freely use all software you want bc you see it educational, when you are 21, using it commercial you pay. ppl that keep it doing as fun but not earning money with it get charged like a 10th of the price, so everybody pays what it is worth to him while nobdoy gets left behind

I'm with Image Line man just buy the shit LOL. They give us so much as loyal customers and that has been the case for over two decades now. I'm notoriously cheap and used to pirate and even I couldn't keep doing IL like that.

Well I mean, almost everyone cracked FL Studio on their first year (some maybe more or don't even buy FL) but after a year, if you still use that product and want to continue using it, you should definitely pay for it. Same with plugins.
