I really loved this story. I've read 3 all out of sequence 😆 but this has me mad, sad and frustrated at Simons antics around Susanna. Its true to say that some folk just don't see what's under their nose. Poor Mina was a trooper for putting up with the abuse from everyone but I was glad when she decided she'd had enough .

Well crap! This must be the first book - and I'm reading these out of order... Sigh... 3:22:37 - spoiler - my heart is breaking for poor little Mina - the way this is written here - where finally, finally she is married and not going to have to be a wallflower at balls again - but it's worse than all the others - it just breaks my heart - seriously - the writing here makes me feel everything! 5:56:58 - Dang! and the story just keeps getting better and better!!!! Holy Moly and a great plot twist too (spoiler - this is where Simone is faced with his horrid family invading AND with the "love of his life" just after kissing Mina in the stables!!!!) It's like one of those - Dun, Dun, Dunnn - moments!!! LOL The whole part after Simone's family and the stupid ex of his show up is just so heartbreakingly sad... my heart can't take much more - Everything that Mina suffered through with her in-laws and her idiotic husband!!! I just want to slap that man! and that terrible woman he was so mad for! UGH! But doesn't everything in this part just perfectly fit the title of the book! This book is so good! The ending was kind of abrupt - and way too wordy - but such a great book! I loved it and I have found my new favorite author! Really well written - so worth the listen!

Lovely story! Thank you for sharing!! And the narrator is wonderful. I hate listening to audio books with AI; they take too much away from the story for me with their awkward pauses and no emotion. I understand why authors use them, but I can't listen to them.

Oh I do wholeheartedly agree about the AI. Have 'tried' a couple of times to listen but eventually give up as it is SO distracting to hear all the incorrect non inflections to add the correct 'feelings' & emotion especially when the actual storyline does sound lovely. No AI for me . Thanks to the author for going the extra 'mile' $$$$ wise and giving us a true narrator

It is a slow-moving romantic tale about a superb, unmarried woman with hopes and dreams. She's not fashionable bc she's plump and not traditionally pretty. She realizes she's been on the shelf too long and much prefers to marry a respectable man - without love - than stay a spinster. Simon proposes, accepting he doesn't love her, but very much respecting and enjoying her. They actually have a good life except for that pesky sex thing. Which doesn't happen. Simon has much to figure out poor guy (he's in lust with a woman). It ends well, but I sure would have enjoyed a little lovemaking at thend AND an epilogue.
