Francisco Manuel Díaz Fernández (Granada, December 24, 1942) is a Spanish flamenco guitarist and luthier, considered one of the most important guitar makers on the Spanish scene.
He was born in Granada and grew up in the Plaza de las Pasiegas, coinciding as a child with Enrique Morente, who would be a personal friend throughout his life. From a very young age, he entered the workshop of master guitar player Eduardo Ferrer as an apprentice, of whom he is considered one of his most direct disciples. At present, Francisco Manuel Díaz has left his two sons: Francis and Víctor, the knowledge acquired in their youth, and both are also guitar builders. Once instituted as a professional guitar player, he began to play his first flamenco chords and to develop another fundamental artistic facet in his life: that of a flamenco guitarist.
Today, and about to turn 80, we are very lucky to interview him in his workshop.
My thanks to Francisco Manuel for his attention and sympathy
