I prefer braced fire briefly to quickly apply burn stacks, then spam the primary fire to maintain max stacks and stagger most enemies to a halt. I generally can approach enemies like ragers, reapers, and shooters safely via primary fire and it can very ammo efficiently destroy monstrosities in a couple mags or less. I really like flammer and I can't let go of it.

The problem with Flamer is that melee is the most fun part of the game and you are actively taking away that joy from yourself when you melt hordes instead

I see your point and we can agree on that! Although, you'd still be meleeing lots just because not every situation will warrant pulling the Flamer out. This thing is perfect for support builds that have trouble clearing stuff on their own, imo.

If it actually staggers and suppresses enemies a bit more I think we will see more people use it. Also, the amount of ranged enemies, especially on higher difficulties are outrageous, the slow draw speed and low stagger of the flamethrower doesn't help also. The braced Agripinaa is a much better choice imo: faster draw, high damage, can clear + suppress horde, can deal with ranged effectively. I had better matches pairing it with THammer than with Flamethrower. But to call it useless is a far stretch. Then again, can't expect much from the subreddit. Most people there probably only run the 'meta' builds and weapons and tend to disregard anything else. Hell, I was downvoted for suggesting that Tactical Axes are actually very good weapons and are nowhere near as bad as people there make them out to be.

It's not a reactionary weapon so it'll look horrible when compared to those that can react to immediate threats. It's pretty good for kiting a large bunch of mobs and then just taking them out all at once, though. Yeah I find Reddit to be a pretty good source of info usually, but it really depends on the subreddit.. The Darktide subreddit is just.. Lmao..

I use flammer as a stagger tool/approach tool pretty regularly. It's because its primary fire (not braced fire) is good at staggering enemies, even keeping ragers still and reapers suppressed after a few burn stacks. It can even push back pox bursters s. It easily suppresses shooters. I even find the bracing fire too often and blaze away to be a waste of ammo compared to the primary fire. I guess it's just a matter of if one prefers to use around primary vs braced fire.

As far as I know, there's only 1 scoreboard mod. The rest are add-ons, so you can just pick the one you'd like to supplement the main mod.

I love the flamethrower but the only viable build with it it's charging zealot with a knife and throwing knifes, its so damn slow to recharge and have so little ammo that any other build will just cripple you

I like flamer, chain axe buffed 20% damage to unarmored and infected, and the power that lets me make the team invincible plus recoup toughness. Only works on T4 or above because if there’s no hordes really I’d rather run revolver as it’s good at range and penetration allows me to drop like 6 dudes in one shot so it’s good for deep hordes too🫡
