Nice, battle report. Solid painting and good terrain. Nice editing, so that the video does not get too tedious. The only rule mistake i spotted was the nebelwerfers only getting a 5+ save despite being gone to ground.

A very close defeat for the American Armoured.. Germany narrowly escapes with a minor victory though the armour cannot be replaced at this stage in the war whilst the Americans will regroup and re-assault the positions.

Beautiful terrain, how did you make your fire plumes (for destroyed vehicles)? It's the first FoW game I've watched through and a number of rules seem strange: the player who owns the target unit, rather than the firer, chooses which element is hit (I bet a lot of WW2 field commanders wished they could do that!) and one-shot crocodiles; they carried enough fuel for 100x 2 second bursts (I bet the German field commanders wished for that one!). Flames of war seems a bit light on artillery too, or is this just the case in this game? It was a very well presented game though. Thankyou.

If you want some easy smoke, take some cotton balls and just spray paint it black. if you want some detailed stuff take some yellow, orange and red for fire.

Great battle. Thanks for posting. Strange to deploy your CO so far from your manouevre elements. You needed him to reroll morale a few times. The German could have deployed his King Tigers on the other side of the wood that hid the 88s and then he didn't need to worry about being shot from the rear. (If i am reading the board right.) Also I might not have fired my 88s when they needed a 6 to hit because you lose your spread out 3+ ward and go to the +5 manning the gun ward save for incoming fire. But overall I really enjoyed it. And it is great looking board.

Thanks for checking us out! It's a calculated risk. Since they are CO and 2iC they deploy AFTER most of the Germans are on the table I could adjust deployment on the fly. Keeping fast Easy 8s behind even a King Tiger is not something they can ignore. Without rear shots available they probably would have been deployed more conventionally.

Great game and a great batrep. Really like the in game rolling. The models and the table all looked fantastic. On thing to note, tanks can't fire both their main gun and AA MG at the same time, so no 50. cal's and main guns.

Like many before me have stated, it's lovely terrain you have. My friend has gotten into FoW - starting with the Open Fire set and has worked up to the Market Garden campaign. I've been absorbed into it. We're both new and make loads of mistakes, but it's great fun to meet up and play. My main questions are, the mesh under the trees, what are they? I'd like to try create some for my friend. On the German first turn, his Pzr IV shot at your Sherman, but he had a Platoon infront of the tank. I thought units couldn't fire through each other?

I know you shot down the jet flight but he needed to roll to range in if the target is within 2" of terrain. Also you shoot smoke 1st before everything else, the table is beautiful by the way.

I noticed a rule error. 13:40. You shot with a guy in a platoon and didn't declare who was going to shoot who in the entire platoon. You fired, then said guy in the same platoon is now going to fire.

+John Horan Thanks! I made the bocage a while back. It was made out of door molding (for the base) tooth picks and Drywall tape to create the hedge and then lots of Woodland Scenic clump foliage attached to the drywall tape with glue (I've used both hot glue and super glue)

Hi Elhanko! I (the US player) was using Battlefront's US Dice. I don't think they produce them anymore. They used to come in a cool metal tin with 16 dice and tokens. I think the SS player was using Battlefront dice as well

Nice gear and well painted, good terrain. Pity that the rules are harping back to 45 years ago when I played Donald Featherstones rules. Very similar in concept. This "Bucket of Dice " mentality just bores me, all that play and it ended on a single dice roll. No orders, no hidden units, no real excitement, just a dice fest. And 6 sided dice at that. Well the owner of FOW is making lots of money and it is that which counts. In the 70's we had to use our imaginations because there was so little kit out there. These rules are rubbish in so many ways. Good luck with the future, because there rules are the death of wargaming thought, except of course that Bolt Action plunges the depths of unimaginative crap. So glad I did not waste money of either of these sets.

If I remember right the E-100 never made it into combat (Or was completed). A subtle but distinctive difference. That said if they released a E100 as part of a Late War Monsters set I'd be on board!

There is no limited air support (5 dice) for "Ze Germans" in Bridge at Remagen book only sporadic (3 dice) :D That's kind of cheating :D

+Seek-Strike -Destroy i wanted to pick up some mistakes that u did during this game :D 1st - u cannot shoot AA 50cal and main cannon at the same time (page 113 of the rulebook) (but u can shoot 2 30cals + 50 cal (5 dice in total - 3 from one MG and 1+1 from the rest of them). 2nd - where was no need in 2nd company morale check due to that u have already pass it and didnt lose more platoon for another check. P.s sorry for any mistakes english is not my native language :D

+Nahomag1 that's not true. You need to take a company morale check every turn that you have less active platoons than those that are destroyed. He played that part right.

Firstly, well done, a good looking game. Secondly, I see you don't adhere to US doctrine for your game. No artillery, no air support, no infantry support and no tank destroyers. Using the tank as the main anti-tank weapon was a German and British concept not embraced by the US. Thirdly, it's unusual to find US fantasy tanks in play as this is usually a German players trait. Fourthly, German air support for the late war and not a dedicated AA unit or 'on call' cab rank to be seen? However, a good demo game which highlighted the significant role of morale. I'd like to see a demo of the game mechanics in depth as I've never played these rules. Thanks again.

Terrible victory they lost 2 KING TIGERS like those are expensive together more expensive then all those Sherman’s and 4 panzers and a bunch of infantry ngl those are a LOT of dead Sherman’s tho but also 2 dead jet craft which were a extramarital lose and 3 nevelwerfels which isn’t that bad all things considered on the german side so I mean it’s kinda a draw but since the Germans stand on solid ground with a single tank a 88 and a couple of infantry they would most likely retreat so draw in my book tbh
